dflameconductordflameThis is completely true. Just because he wasn't vac'd in TF2 doesn't mean that he does hack in TF2. And the fact that he decided to hack in CSGO makes it a bigger possibility. I've always thought insom was very fishy (since s13 open) but maybe he is just lucky or something.
he literally just played at lan like a month ago (on scout nonetheless), has been streaming for ages, and everybody who knew him knew he hacked in csgo like a week before he got vac banned so it was hardly a surprise; combine that with the fact that all of the hacks that are going to keep you from getting vac banned work across all of the source games anyways and the entire premise that he could get away with hacking in tf2 but get caught in csgo makes no sense. I'm sure that if you go watch demos with wireframes on and the mindset that he's hacking you could dig up some fishy looking clips, but you can do that with just about anyone - you and thrasher are literally the only two people who keep pressing the opinion that he hacked in tf2, and it's just making you look like bitter children.
I wasn't aware that he went to a LAN and also did he do well at the LAN? And as far as streaming goes... every time I have watched his stream he seems to miss like 75% of his shots and does sub par.

i think you just realllly want to believe that insom hacked in tf2 so you can excuse all the times he raped you

Codys input is most interesting to me, with his venerable background in counterstrike, the game that was cheated.

In fact I think a lot of us here at TFTV give counterstrike a bit of respect as a good competitive game.

I would personally like to hear their input, those people who've played counterstrike competitively.

But what I think is odd is the attitude that its "just CS" as though that's a good excuse.

How would we feel about a counterstrike player who started playing TF2mix, got frustrated and decided to install wallshacks and an aimbot because "It's just TF2." How would we feel if the counterstrike community had that attitude, "Yeah dude, its just TF2, so were still good man :) We know you didn't cheat in anything serious."

He won lan, against enigma and Kalkin. If that's not enough for you, it was streamed.

Oh ok. See I never knew that he went to LAN or won LAN. I'm still not fully convinced that he doesn't wall in tf2 but I am sorry for all my negativity towards insom. He's actually pretty damn good.

a few things...

-I was unaware insom went to a lan. That helps his credibility a lot.

-As far as watching a demo with wireframes with the mindset hes hacking goes, thats absolutely true. Thats one of the reasons I didnt bother watching any demos (that and I was feeling very lazy).

-I wasnt straight up accusing him of cheating. I was saying that we should consider all possibilities and look into it a little more before sweeping it under the rug. Again, this was before I was aware he had been to a lan. Had I been aware of that I wouldnt have even bothered posting.

-Im not bitter. Insom is a damn good scout and knowing that hes proven himself on lan really changes my opinion about the matter. Id like to sincerely apologize to you Insom if anything I said was out of line.

harvesti feel bad now i am so sorry dont hurt me

You feel no remorse. None of the other bandwagon/plus frag hungry posters feel bad, or the butthurt im teams who lost to AG this season looking for an overturned win. Little insom made a dumb decision to cheat at a game he doesn't care about and ruined his already shitty reputation as the fulltime sniper in #pugna.

This is a screenshot of his inventory taken today. All of his tf2 items are still there. All of his csgo items are gone.

http://i.imgur.com/gtR61Ti.png

Now, addressing the ESEA ban talk being thrown around.

There have been plenty of players who have VAC bans, old and new, who play tf2 on client and continue to do so.

Madoff got TF2 VAC banned last season in the middle of the season on his main. Not many people noticed, he made an alt, switched his esea steam id to his alt. and continued playing. Admins did nothing, and no one seemed to care.

Heephop has (an old) VAC ban on his account and has played on client ever season he's played tf2 with not a single issue. He's been able to play ugc as well if that matters...

Moonchild switched esea accounts during a season and had heavy suspicions of cheating.

Anonemouse has a VAC ban and has clearly been playing on client on his main....clearly.

Phrakture was unlucky. He played on an mge on an alt. Someone cared enough about plus frags to ask a server admin for an ip log, found these alt accounts that have no importance other than shit talk and posted them to the forums. He was outed for using cheats, on an alt, in tf2lobby. Again, not in league play, not in a scrim. Not to test cheats on client.

There are lots of examples of players who have cheated in the past (and preset) and continue to play. Making scapegoats of these players by banning them now just because someone made a drama thread about is unfair.

People joke about the client being useless, but it's certainly kept people from cheating during matches, and none of these players who have VAC's have been outed on client. The fact that there is a client at all keeps people from attempting to cheat. Was it wrong what all of them did, yes.
If there was a clear rule which stated , if you have been VAC'd , you cannot play, then all of this would be different. ESEA servers are not VAC secured. So in theory, VAC bans are irrelevant to ESEA, like it or not. " ESEA has a specific procedure regarding banning cheaters" Why not address VAC ? It's a grey area that needs to be clarified, and banning two people who have only received attention because of forum drama as opposed to actual game-play suspicion would be a joke in itself.

I get pharaoh's point, but the main thing to take into consideration is the fact that ESEA "anticheat" has only caught two players that I am aware of. The chances of that is very slim.

Help me understand this logic

Are you saying because we didn't give a shit about VAC bans before we shouldn't start giving a shit now? Makes $ense. Or are you saying we need more forum drama from the breloom detective agency LLC? Do you really want him revealing your deepest darkest secrets?

My main quarrel concerns defending the ESEA client, that's like a putting fresh toppings on a shit sandwich (extra crunchy). Maybe they could have spent some of those bitcoins to improve the program itself because people do hack on client. Just because some people cheated and got caught by VAC doesn't mean cheating on client ever crossed their minds? CAN YOU READ MINDS??? plsr espond

i dont really care about any of this at all but just wanted to pop in and let you guys know that every person i've ever heard of using an actual privately coded cheat had to be manually banned.

i've played in esea matches in cs:s against people blatantly aimbotting/wallhacking and it took 3/4 of the season for them to "update the client" (read: manually ban after the community was in an uproar over how blatant that shit was) and ban the fuckers.

the client is there to keep the already discovered hacks out, stop people from using textures and shit like that, and deter people from cheating because "ooooh anti cheat client!"
