Back in my sophomore chemistry class in high school my teacher asked which element's symbol was BA. I raised my hand and said "Badassium" and was promptly given two Saturday detentions for "disruptive classroom behavior."

The worst thing that ever happened to me was a "blue-slip" (basically a mark that says you did something moderately bad) because my friends made a ruckus in the bathroom in 5th grade. It got dropped because one of my friend's mom said it was racism (all of us were Asian).

I sold candy in middle school for weeks and got caught, but the only thing they did was take the candy and let me pick it up at the end of the day. Lax as fuck over it.

Also probably lucked out on the teachers by being in one of those accelerated programs. It's so ridiculously filtered, even though you share electives + PE with other people I dodged most shit. Teachers are way more lax towards students (even though they chew them out, I don't know anybody who ever had detention). Heck I didn't even think detention actually happened until 3rd year high school when I saw they had a room for it. It's probably more because it's urban schools where teachers are less inclined to care with large class sizes.

My junior year of high school had basically half of my grade get in trouble and stay after school. Someone had thought up of a "junior skip day" where no one would show up to class and we would all go to a park and do drunken boxing. One of the students decided to upload a few clips of that day on youtube as "(our high school name) junior skip day boxing" like the genius he was and then everyone who was absent that day was questioned after school. I made the excuse that I was sick, and even though it was obviously bullshit I luckily wasn't on the video so I didn't get into any trouble.

Streaked through the halls with ~12 friends... No suspension.

Built a mortared cinder block wall on a Sunday night to seal off the main school entrance as a grad prank... No suspension.

Graduated @85% avg with nearly double the absences of the next worst attendance record... No suspensions.

Held a ruthlessly annoying kid down spread eagle while my friends were closing a mechanized gym divider (turning of 2 keys necessary) into his crotch... No suspension.

Climbed the outside of the school gym twice... No suspension.

Used the word 'fuck' in an English essay marked at 98%... 3 days.

This is probably more my fault than anything, but I'll talk about it anyway.

During my 7th grade year, I had found a small pocket knife in my house and while waiting outside to go to school, I was messing around with it on a tree. A few minutes before I was going to leave, I put it in my pocket for what was going to be temporary, but I ended up forgetting about it. Fast forward to me being at school before classes started, I was outside with a "friend". I reached into my pocket for whatever the reason was and noticed something sitting in there. I slightly pulled it out to see what it was and noticed it was the pocket knife. I said, "oh, shit, I didn't mean to bring this." My friend who was with me said, "Yeah, you probably shouldn't let a teacher or anyone else see that."

So fast forward again to whatever class I was in, I ended up getting called down to the dean's office. The dean told me he was told I had a knife on me and to give it to him. So, I gave it to him and explained why I had it like he had asked. He sounded like he sincerely understood, but I guess he didn't. He made me wait there until my mom got there. Once she got there, he explained the situation and went on to say that I would be expelled for the rest of the year, which was like 5-6 months, which was basically half the year as we had separated breaks and not a summer break.

So instead of going to school for 5-6 months, they made me go to some behavior school for that time. It wasn't even a behavior school really, at least it didn't seem like one. I just had to wear a uniform. Everything else was exactly like being in school. To this day, I'm still not sure why they thought a 7th grader would bring a knife to school in order to harm people (considering I was expelled and sent to this school, that's what I assume they felt), but I guess it's possible.

tl;dr "friend" thought he would actually get $50 from the school for reporting shit to them and i get expelled

Kids younger than 7th grade have brought guns to their school and killed their teachers, so it's not really ordinary to be cautious about that type of thing

The only I ever did that was questionable, was our senior prank.

My HS had a sister HS - the building was built exactly the same, and we were only about 20 minutes apart, with basically equal demographics and so forth. We contacted other people from the school, and told them that we'd planned out this senior prank where we'd just switch student bodies for the day, and that since both groups of seniors had senior only classes 1st period we exchanged information about where to go.

But then, we thought it'd be even more interesting if we'd just *not* switch. So everything goes according to plan, and yet, when the other seniors show up, they see we're still there, an announcement comes over the intercom that a bus was en route to relocate all seniors from the other school to their proper school and to meet in a preplanned location because we'd just trolled them hardcore.

In college we did many questionable things and I was fined around 250$ (others were fined more) for participating in pretty extreme stuff such as international sauna day and international porn day.

Sauna day: We turned all the faucets and showers on as hot as they would go in our dorm floor and opened all the doors to the stair wells and bathrooms, and with the aid of box fans, the steam thus generated flowed to the stair wells and into the dorm floors above us. We succeeded in turning the girl's dorm floor into a giant misty jungle hell. We were all fined 25$ for wasting water.

Porn Day: Our campus had a "prospectives" day where prospective students would come and have a big meet and greet with profs from their future majors and future class mates and get a tour of the campus with their parents and stuff. So we had our entire floor burn and exchange massive amounts of pornography in preparation for that day. We knew they had a big tent meeting in the campus' main courtyard (which our dorm happened to be adjacent to) for lunch. So at noon, we fired up the porn, turned every stereo, PC, and television to maximum volume, opened the windows, and turned on the porn. A cacophony of intercourse echoed throughout the event and was so loud the President stopped speaking. We locked our dorm doors and fled the building - it took campus security a full 30 minutes to unlock every door and turn off all of the offending devices.

We were all fined 120$ for disrupting a campus event, 3 people got expelled, and every single person on our entire dorm floor was forbidden from living on that floor ever again, or having anybody from that floor as a roommate, ever. The floor is now a freshman only dorm so as to prevent traditions from being created lol.

6th grade
my music teacher told me at the start of class not to touch my recorder's cleaner because I was fidgeting with it out of excited boredom
in the middle of class we're gonna have to use the recorders so i get excited and somehow bump into it so that it fucking slides out of its case and ricochets off the desk across the classroom
i get sent to the attendance office because they deal with detentions
the attendance secretary asks me what I did and I say that I accidentally made my recorder cleaner fly across the room
she sends me into another room and calls my mom to tell them i'm going to be out-of-school suspended for throwing a *knife* across the room
a bunch of argumentative bullshit happens between administrators that have no idea what they're talking about and my parents took me out of school because of that

Wasn't me but for the class I was supposed to graduate in (i graduated a year early) the senior prank was gonna be to plant a bunch of california poppies in the school yard in formation to spell out "2012" cause we thought it'd be illegal for them to pick them (was wrong) but someone snitched and when the senior class showed up at 12 am to get to work there were multiple squad cars and the principal + other school administration waiting in the quad. Luckily someone realized what was about to go down and i think almost everyone got away. Also the person who snitched was outed by their best friend and they were ostracized for a while by everyone.

My high school had this rule that students couldn't dye their hair unnatural colors. An African American friend had decided to dye her hair red -- nothing flashy, a subtle strawberry red. One of the office worker ladies threw a fit and told her she couldn't attend with her hair that color and called her parents to come pick her up. Her mom arrives and has words with the principal. My friend told me the principal had a hard time trying to explain why red is a natural hair color on other kids in school, but was unnatural for her. She went back to class later that day and the issue wasn't brought up again. My school was dumb.

I once created a load of propaganda posters in a photography class with my face on that said things like "I have taken over the world" and "Big Brother is watching you"(in the style of the 1984 ones)
I then handed them out to my friends and they stuck them up all around school, unfortunately one of them claimed David Cameron was a neo-nazi and I got in trouble for "possibly offending any jewish people in the school" despite my friend who was a jew being one of the people who stuck them up. One of the Big Brother posters actually ended up on the inside door of a cubicle in the girls toilet so my face was staring at them, the school didn't really appreciate that one.
In the end I got a file note for it and was told to take them all down.

And once when I was in year 5 (not sure what that is in the US, I would have been about 10) I got into an argument with my best friend about him cheating in a game we'd played in breaktime and just as we walked past my teacher she told me off for criticizing his guitar playing in the talent show that had happened earlier that day??? I tried to explain it but she just told me no excuses and when my friend explained she just ignored him. It stopped our argument though.

One time I had to print some papers for an English assignment. I went to the tech lab and asked the print however many packets. When I hear packet I usually assume more than one sheet of paper. By the time I printed about 50 sheets, the teacher got up and refilled the paper, having no issue. By the time I finished it was about 80 sheets of paper and she threw a fit. I had to pay for a new ink cartridge and I got detention.
