I've been using this for a while, it's good if you have performance problems while playing tf2 and using the default twitch player at the same time, and it means you don't have to look through 30 tabs to see where the sound is coming from. Plus you get a resizable window. It's basically better in every way.

Useless but amusing.

not useless. the flash player is very inefficient at rendering video. my laptop can run a vlc outputted stream perfectly and tends to struggle with running it directly on the twitch site

There is a much better way to use VLC + Twitch that solves most of the lag/stuttering problems.

Unlike flash, I can actually watch "Source" quality without any lag.

You can also use VLC (or some other media player) to watch VODs. Get the plaintext links for the VOD files from http://twitchtools.com and save them into a .m3u file with notepad. Then open that (it's a playlist format).
