Hey tf.tv, I have been trying to use Vegas 11 Pro 64Bit to make some videos and it has been a nightmare, what all do you use? Or how do you get vegas to stop crashing constantly?

I had issues with crashing too, with Vegas 10. Upgrading to 11 fixed it for me, so maybe an older version might work for you?

Is it that much better? Lots of videos I see now days still credit vegas, but also use after effects.

Scratch that, I went from 11 to 12. I had the wrong version numbers.

So yeah, hopefully that should fix it for you.

It's preference, but Vegas is more of a "hobbyist" program, afaik.

After Effects is a compositing program. It's not for editing (well you could use it for editing, but it'd be a nightmare).

Sony Vegas may be easier to learn, but I would highly suggest to use adobe premiere, because it is at least stable program and is overall a better editing platform. Just try it out.

for some reason vegas pro hates mp4s. when i was doing my videos i had to keep scrapping footage until i realized that i needed to use a program other than obs(only records in mp4) to record. i turned to dxtory which is far superior when it comes to local recording. not sure if this will solve your problem but good luck nonetheless.

Though this is true for most things, I feel like for stuff like tf2 videos after effects should be better. Maybe if you're doing a 20 minute long movie premiere would be better, but for a 3 minute frag video after effects would be fine. Maybe its just cause I'm more comfortable with ae, haha

Try Adobe Premiere if you don't like Vegas / it crashes too much! That's what I use. Much more stable.

I never have trouble with Vegas crashing. I do have some other problems every once and awhile though. Have you tried using the 32b version?

Well, My computer isnt really good enough for local recording, so I use either demos, or in this footages case, replays. I don't have time for a 6s team anymore so I just pub, and with that I can record a replay at minecraft settings and then set everything to high when I render stuff. If I had the Dosh to make a new PC I would use Dxtory.

I'll probably try the 32Bit Version if thats what you use.

Hm. Good to hear that you use that, maybe ill try.

For Future reference I have a Phenom 955 Black edition, with a HD6850. I feel like it struggles with minecraft.

Adobe Premiere will give you a much wider variety of options, without the need to use plugins and such.
