What about volunteering to help out with a specific event or to make sure all players that are for that hour block can attend with reliable substitutes?

I'd be down for helping out any way I can.

If videos are done, it'd be really cool to get a guy like Sam Posey to provide a voice over intro along with them:

huge emphasis on jumping. that was the highlight of the event for me, and i think it's safe to say, a lot of other viewers.

also, 2v2 MGE would be really fun to watch, it'd be nice if we could consider adding that!

Why remove the pugs? I don't think anybody didn't like them. Do you base the k/a/r list on the amounts of donations during those events?

I think this one would be better just to have the players in the randomizer talking about the ridiculousness they're experiencing rather than having a caster/casters trying to make sense of everything.

What was it about the jumping and surfing that people enjoyed so much? I honestly was expecting them to be on the remove list.

chftWhat was it about the jumping and surfing that people enjoyed so much? I honestly was expecting them to be on the remove list.

Surfing and jumping both have rather large communities that only partially overlap with the comp community or even in some cases the tf2 community which can draw more people in to something they might otherwise not watch.

As someone who surfs and jumps regularly, it's incredible to watch some of the more advanced jumpers and surfers do what they do best.

Also try not to run it close to another charity event because like there were like 10 charities setup for ghost, and I wanted to donate to all of them but I'm not super rich so I couldn't participate in all of them.

I really think that you should do it bi-annually, as it still gives people's wallets enough time to recover, and means more money for charity :D

Lange- Highlight Reel

If I have the time I'd be happy to go through the vods post event to create a highlight reel.

Lange- Donations going directly to the charity, rather than into a PayPal controlled by us

Assuming we'll be sponsoring One Step Camp again, they have a donation page, but it's not PayPal supported. You/me/anyone could contact them to request a stable PayPal link.

Lange- Ask SDA to borrow their donation tracker?

From their Old News page (speeddemosarchive.com/oldnews12q1.html) on Jan 16, 2012 they posted this (donations.uranium-anchor.com/tracker/) link calling it "their spiffy new donation tracker. I didn't look at it too much but it looks like it was made specifically for their event. I don't really know what you want to do about that other then contact SDA and request one for Tip of the Hats.

LangeAdd: -Potential sponsor gear

I think Razer and Fatal1ty (possibly?) should be who we should aim to get sponsor us. I need my fvcking gamer food.

For possible events, might I suggest arena mode where the catch is everyone has to pick a random class every round. My team has done this (albeit like 3v3 or 4v4) on off nights and it's hilariously fun..

The premiere of dellort's Jump Fortress 2 video was pretty awesome to see on the stream for the first time. I think planning ahead for some sort of similar video premiere would be a cool thing to do and would also create a lot of hype. Whether it be a frag or jump vid, or maybe even something related to the results of i49.

I'll still be around if you want any help with organizing anything related to the jumping/surfing (players, what maps would be good to showcase, etc.). I can also help in making those pre-segment videos to play before each event, unless you were thinking of just finding existing videos to play.

During the last tip of the hats, the Newbie Mix event was scheduled during the same time which made a lack of coaches and newbies.

I was thinking about this time to possibly incorporate the Newbie Mixes and mixers into this event, but how should we do this?

i'm willing to help with donation processing, because i feel like you'd still need to manually overlook each donation to make sure everything is going into the right place

at least from sgdq's perspective, they had four people on donation duty for the recent event and it was still chaotic even though most of it was automatic

but i guess we don't really screen things as much as they did lol

edit: i could also try asking my speedrunning friends from 502 to figure out if uyama would release the sourcecode for the donation tracker used in _gdq events

edit 2: i've asked my speedrunning pals and have wrote to uyama about the donation tracker used in the _gdq events

Absolutely YEARS ago, allllll the way back in early '08 when I was still in Team Interrobang back when it was first getting started, we had a pure "TI night" where it was members, incoming members, and really popular regulars. One of the funniest things I remember us doing was karaoke. Most of us had a good laugh about how bad the musically-impaired were at singing (I'm one of those people), but we had this one guy in his early 40s named Mondo who was able to do a pretty good John St. John impression and sang a little as "Duke Nukem". It might be corny and probably not viable at all, but what about a karaoke section? By the way people here are loved for doing wacky shit on stream, why not get a bunch of familiar faces in a server and duke it out - first one to get dominated has to sing a song, with the most recent donator getting to chose the song they have to sing.

One problem with this ends up being someone unironcally picks something by Psy or submits electronic music of some sort. Sounds good on paper, though.

Also I have enough metal to craft 9 hats and I have not a single fuck to truly give about them. When do donations open, or are they already?

Great to hear this is getting ready to start up again. I've been thinking about it a lot recently coincidentally and I'm going to help as much as I can donation wise with this one.

Premiered videos would be awesome to have. The one you sent me the day of was fantastic and I think generated a ton of hype for the jumping part of the stream. If any other editors from different parts of the community would like to contact me about maybe getting a video premiered on the stream feel free!

SezcoWhat about volunteering to help out with a specific event or to make sure all players that are for that hour block can attend with reliable substitutes?

I'd be down for helping out any way I can.

I'll definitely hit you up when we need help with organization. Right now we are mainly focused on community input and potential ideas for events. Once we have all that set up we can start figuring out how many people we need to help out!
