Hello friends. So way back when I first started playing competitive, I used Chris' Max Frames config to make my game look like trash but with wonderful frames. I've noticed that in recent weeks whenever I launch TF2 console still says "Chris' Max Frames config loaded" or whatever but when I'm in servers it's very obvious it's not running max frames (maps aren't blocky). I know that the config stopped being maintained a while ago, but don't know how to go about resolving this. If anyone could help me out, provide some other FPS-boosting configs, I'd really appreciate it.

Yeah that's where I placed it after Steampipe conversion.

(Max frames no longer makes things look blocky evidently there was an exploit involved with it and it now requires sv_cheats 1)

Hm. It's just bizarre because ever since I've been using the config I've had upwards of 90FPS but for the past week or so I've walked into middles with 30 and sometimes even worse and I don't understand why.

it can still but u need to do this every time the server change map
or u change a server
set ur mat_filterlightmaps 1 and change it back
the filtertextures is not broken but the maps are broken
im doing this every time and my fps is reaching 120 if im dead sometimes 138

I think it's safe to say that the difference in fps from the dx9 frames to dx8 is very small, and the difference between the high frames and Max frames configs is even smaller. Indeed the blocky textures no longer work, but if your fps has taken that big of a hit, it likely is due to something else.
