UltrazAny computer science/engineer majors here do you apply math or had to take a math course at collage? I know you need a basic understanding algebra for variables but what about calculus?

2 courses of calculus (not sure how relevant this is but its fun)
differential equations (useless)
statistics (useful for analysis)
linear algebra (really useful if you get any kind of computer graphics course)
discrete mathematics (has some ties to data structures, but not much else)

Even as an English major I use algebra every day. Learn it. As for memorizing Mark Antony's speech in High School for class, not so useful. If you're being taught something in school, don't deny yourself knowledge just because you dont think it's relevant. Take all the knowledge you can and appreciate it.

Discrete mathematics is pretty fucking important for CS, consider the amount of logic it really is. It was basically how I learned to make a queuing system (along with an algorithm class). Not as useful for generic engineering majors though.
