so i want to get a new ride, i'm a huge car guy, just wondering if anyone else is into it as me

the new bmw 4 series coupe looks ridiculously sexy, but high demand may give it a nice premium in price and also reach me no earlier than september which may be too late.

the audi s5 is my next option, but with audi it's a better deal to buy/finance but i would much rather lease for certain reasons.

and my stretch would be c63 amg, i love f1 and mercedes is my favorite team but this shit is way too expensive, but you never know.

any opinions on these rides?

also these three companies partake in european delivery, which i would like to do. basically you customize your car and order, it gets built in the factory in germany and you pick it up at a fresh 0 miles straight out of there. they give you a tour, a 5 star hotel and pick up service, and a 5-7% discount on the car which is amazing

no offense but i'm not 100% sure this is the type of community that buys sports cars or is able to afford them

i'm more of a honda guy myself

Honda S2000

Toyota GT86

Mazda MX-5 Club

these are your options. Unless you want a primo euro sports car in which case obviously Jaguar XK.

I'm saving for an NB MX-5 right now, €750/2500 of the way there

haha mazdas are always fun, i believe the toyota is sold as scion here, but it seems like the toyota one looks nicer. and no jaguar maybe when im older or a spy, and the s2000 is way too tiny for me

I'm over 6' and fit in a Miata, can't see the S2k being smaller than that?

Best bang for the buck performance wise would be the sti/evo no contest, but not a lot of people like the bumpy ride and I guess the ricer stigma behind them. Buying a brand new car that fits your liking is good, but depreciation will always be a concern even more for high end performance cars. Personally having been in a s5 due to my extremely wealthy friend's dad, it is pretty nice and fast, but It felt really heavy at times and more of a luxury car. And you should probably list your price range and specify what you really want in a car. There is a huge difference in the meaning of sporty aka really good at cornering like the miata or fast like the STI. OF course you can shell out more money to get a combination of the two, but all of it goes back to your budget ^^

Personally I would rather get a slightly older c63(2009~) with 20k miles, and those sometimes can fall down under the 40k price range, gotta love that exhaust note even in stock

yup, so i'm willing to trade a little performance for luxury, especially for the audi with the bang & olufsen speakers and the sexy interior. price range i would say i want to spend no more than 800 bucks a month, lease or finance, but obviously the lesser the better to spend money on dumb shit. i don't really want a performance car without the luxury. i like the m3, but they are stopping production and m4 won't be out for a year, and the 435i or 450i competes with the s5 anyway.

and dude my friend said the same thing as you, go with a used c63, but i could not find one in the boston area. if i could find a nice coupe white or silver, i would probably jump on that. maybe ny will have more options

If you want to lease, just check http://www.swapalease.com/ and if you want to buy, sometimes you can get a way better deal than dealers at enthusiast forums and of course, always check craiglist.

It would be more helpful if you told us what your budget is but it seems like you’re into luxury/sports cars. So that being said I would probably look into these particular models.

Subaru BRZ
Scion FR-S
BMW 335i
G37
BMW 135i

If you want pure performance…

WRX STI
Evo10
Hyundai Genesis

subaru is not a luxury sport car and out of all those cars, the 335 and 135 would be his best bet under those category but reliability is always a concern for bmw especially for those two since they are twin turbo'ed and there is a lot more chances of failure due to the increased amount of parts involved.

You should test drive a 4 series and the s5.
The interior of BMWs aren't that great (one of my biggest regrets is not getting red interior), Audi has really nice interiors.
If we're talking about performance stock-stock the s5 is faster in the straights, but it will feel a lot shitter in the corners than the BMW. But the 335 has higher aftermarket potential, spend 800 on a ECU flash and you'll be pushing ~400hp.

Personally I'd go with BMW because I have one and love it. If you don't really need a backseat I'd recommend you take a look at the 2 series (basically a smaller 4 series but saves you like 7k). Another reason to love the BMW is that the exhaust notes are unique (I6 vs V6), you get gurgles and pops when you lift off on high revs like its a fucking f1 car.

You shouldn't buy any cars until you've test driven all your options.

Although I agree Subaru is not a luxury brand, the BRZ model is marketed as luxury/sport just like G37, 370z ect..

#12 i talked about my budget in one of my posts. i like the g37 but my roommate got one last year.

but yup i will definitely be test driving them, just scheduled one for the s5. the 1/2 series is beast, i think i need the back seats . so you can mod bmw's for the hp upgrade, but not the audi?

I think one of Rick's friends has a bmw 335 that hits a below 4 second 0-60 and 11 seconds quarter mile or something crazy like that. Reason being is that BMW really undertunes the 335 and 135 and because many turbo'ed cars are extremely restricted by the way the exhaust is designed, meaning car makers have to keep in mind of the strict smog regulation and as opposed to a naturally aspirated car like the s5, there isn't really any room to play with unless you add your own forced induction, but that requires way more money than a simple aftermarket exhaust and tune.

If you have a high budget, buy an Audi and mod the shit out of it. Being a Honda/Acura person myself, I'm starting to mod my RSX Type S and it's a day/night difference.

the bmw's are more cost effective, the S5 is more expensive since it's naturally aspirated. it's more cost effective to tune an a5 than a s5.
drop 15k and you have a ~550whp bmw

i believe the twin turbo kit for the s5 is ~20k not including labor or all the other parts you'd want with a forced induction car.

idk what your budget is but the gtr is probably the best sports car on the market that isn't >$100k. If you aren't looking to spend that much I would go for the Audi, they dont make BMWs like they used to. The only problem with European cars is that they are heavy as fuck.

If you have the time and know a lot about cars or want to learn, an older sports car is a lot of fun. Here's a pic of my 95 RX-7:
