This was posted on their website a few days ago, the direct link appears to be broken but the post is visible on their homepage: https://www.ugcleague.com/

Even if they have been pretty much dead the past few years and were irrelevant for EU and NA 6s, I thought it was worth mentioning here as UGC was still a pretty big part of (HL) TF2 comp history and they also hosted some other formats afaik. They are stating they will remake the website so player and team history isn't lost, with the mention that they might host competitions in the future, but not any time soon.

Hey, just wanted to set the record straight.

That post was made on the site by the legacy owner of UGC with no consultation or input from the current staff and is categorically wrong. UGC actually does have exciting things planned in the very near future, and we have been working extremely hard behind the scenes on a new and improved website. I cannot speak to an exact timeline, but we will be for sure operational once more before the end of the Summer.

We indeed have been on hiatus since November 2024, but there was a lot to do behind the scenes with respect to medals and a new website, and now that medals are done, we can once again direct our focus towards resuming operations.

What a resumption of operations looks like, I am not sure. We will gauge community interest as we announce things later this summer, but we have already made plans to change a few things, which will hopefully give our playerbase - albeit small - an experience that is still enjoyable, fun, and free. Sorry for any confusion that article on the site made, and feel free to reach out on Discord if there are any further questions!

I’ll be the first to say that UGC was one of the best resources out there for TF2 player names and regions/country’s that aren’t shown on their profiles. I don’t play comp but I have used it so much Liquipedia from early tf2 players to a combo of Rgl and etf2l to figure out player names. I know that the database probably won’t survive in the future (like ESL did) but I would want to see some of it kept but I can understand the cost behind it since it’s a free website, losing tf2 history would be bad seeing the scare recently with the old website of ESEA going down for a week. I love what you do and want it to succeed in every way, seeing the slowdown of comp tf2 makes me sad where I just want the scene to thrive.

Yeah echoing Diamond, any chance of getting hold of the database? Would be really good to have the competition/player history archived somewhere.
