yo, it's been a week or two after the latest Konami game for the yugioh has been released and there are a few pros and cons of it:
+ it is finally for FREE and you don't have to buy some shit dlcs which gives you some shortened story from the anime
+ crossplay meaning you can play vs people on pc/ps5/ps4/switch/xbox1 (both one and series)
+ banlist seems to be very close to be the current one and from what i've heard on their discord there are plans to make one global banlist for tcg/ocg/master duel/links
~ you have grind all games in solo mode in order to get enough gems (points used for buying booster packs) to get a meta deck, otherwise without paying for gems you get fucked on rankeds by people with meta decks
- sometimes you get fucked in the first turn (meaning you can't even get to your turn)
are there any people playing it from tf2 community besides dummtm? i bet i could duel with someone and it would be cooler to play it with some tf2 gamer

Games fun, clearly rushed and needs more polish in many places, mobile port is hot ass so keep that in mind if you got an old phone.
Otherwise nice to have a proper sim to play on but the lack of up to date cardpool (its behind by a few months) and no choice on format means that while neat, this will be very pointless for testing decks people plan to play in paper so it will just be this bizarro format between OCG and TCG while being ages behind on cards from either.
made me instantly drop Duel Links tho so thats a plus

Yeah I play, game is fun. It's cool that new players are given enough to easily make a couple decks of their choice for free. It might be daunting for a returning player though, especially regarding hand traps and card text length. They gotta do something about VFD and some other problem cards as well.
It feels bad playing duel links after this, since I'm playing gimped versions of decks I enjoy there.

I am glad that i can drop duel links now at least.
But after having grinded all the f2p stones there are, it really shows how bad the secret pack system is.
Once you have 1000 stones (after an eternity if youre f2p), you will have to waste craft material just to get the secret pack you want to summon on.
And then after a week or so of playing for another 1000 stones you will need to waste crafting material again just to get access to a card pack.
But still i am having a lot of fun. Its good to finally have a proper official online ygo service.
I also hope that there will be event cups, like only being able to play cards from GX era or a draft mode (pls do a draft cup konami).

try joining the master duel server, they have tips for pretty much every type of the deck you could play (including tips from platinum I players and their deck examples)
