from Slasher on Twitter:

Sources: Facebook offered an insane offer at almost double for the original Mixer contracts of Ninja and Shroud but Loaded/Ninja/Shroud said no and forced Mixer to buy them out. Ninja made ~$30M from Mixer, and Shroud made ~$10M

why did they not take the offer? more lucrative to go back to twitch i guess?

They don't need the money anymore, they took their risk and it paid off so it's time to go back to a stable platform. Twitch viewers will be magnitudes larger than facebook viewers, and will most likely last the longest as a platform.

robingoeschirpthe fact that the mixer streamers received NO WARNING about this is kind of a dick move

When I last went on mixer's front page it was just a lot of people crying/ranting and furiously spamming their twitch links. While mixer was nowhere near as succesful as youtube/twitch it does highlight how for these 'jobs' youre essentially gambling your life to this one company/platform, and if they decide to screw you over, you're fucked.

Facebook seems like it's becoming a pretty sketchy platform in general. I.e., the inflated video viewership stuff.
No clue if this played a factor, but twitch just seems like the better choice :-/
