I think I'm going to slow down as far as running the newbie mixes.

If anyone wants to take over let me know I can train you and give you permissions.

I think it would be good to have multiple top-level admins running it.
Pros being
-If one is away one weekend, others will still be there to run them
-Helps prevent admin bias in decisions
-Quicker help when problems arise

If you choose to hand the project off like that, I'd be down to help (although I'm sure you may find others more qualified than me), I just wouldn't be able to commit 100% of my weekends.

is this due to the lack of coaches? i know that was one of the issues but another one i think is the time you ultimately chose to host these mixes, friday night a lot of people aren't around, even more typical for people not to scrim on fri/sat but just to do the coaching in general may be a bit rough

Yeah, I think that's one of the biggest issue is getting coaches on late Friday and Saturdays. On the days I am around, I will always try to help but just looking at my friends list when I am playing those days I think I may have 20-30 people playing out of 250.

For that reason alone, I would suggest having multiple admins so that they may only have 1 weekend a month to run it. I think that this would help the admin getting burnt out from losing a weekend night out too. I don't know, just a thought

The problem has always been a lack of admins and coaches. It has been suggested before and it probably wont change.

I applaud Vick for picking up the mixes after Shwan stopped heading it up. However, the problem has always been that sitting in mumble and herding around newbies for 3-4 hours as an admin is not fun, regardless of whether the mixes occur on the weekend or not.

I enjoy being an admin for short periods of time but coaching is much more fun in my opinion. Why not try something where we have a bunch of trustworthy people rotate being admins for x time while the other coaches coach?

give people a gold star on this forum for coaching and everyone will be bending over backward to do it

I really enjoyed coaching. I will try to keep doing it whenever I can (couldn't do it this past week due to FITES).

I can definitely hop in some more to help out now that I'm on break. Until midterms kill me that is.

Newbie Mixes is great for the community and VickM works hard to make these happen. It'd be awesome to have more people help him make these happen!

I ran/coached a night of newbie mixes for about 6 hours straight a week or two ago and it was loads of fun. I'd be more than willing to do it again if you need help running it!

I could commit to running it once a month. I think a system with admins scheduled for different weeks would be best.

We can run mixes on Saturday (3/9), I will be using the opportunity to train some new admins that can share mumble responsibilities for me.

In addition we can discuss different schedules for running mixes, but my initial response is that I don't want to cut into scrim time, but I guess since we're in off season for a lot of people it should be okay. Also since it's before ESEA playoffs maybe we can start running these like 2-3 times a week and get some interest going.

Please message me again on Steam if you are interested in sitting in mumble for 2-5 hour blocks talking to people and trouble shooting newbies' problems. I'm making a list now :)
