Welp, that's all their time and effort being sucked into an overhyped game that they have no passion for, which will ultimately affect their efforts into tf2, respect for making decisions in their lives but really scary to know that the backbone for tf2 writing, production, org scouting and editing are flocking elsewhere.

dashnerI've booked a flight and hotel for i58, and am yet again paying out of pocket to help make TF2's biggest LAN event of the year happen, as are many others.

Chill.

Yeh, and they deserve it. I don't really blame them for expanding to OW, there's a lot of money there and it has to get frustrating to have such excellent production quality without any significant profit.

GL to you guys

just fyi there are more people involved in tftv production than just these dudes. (not to undermine their achievements, naturally) and these guys are still passionate about tf2 and working behind the scenes in tf2. don't take insight's existence as them giving up tf2 forever because that's not what it's about from what i understand.

People already putting words in my mouth, I'm not saying they're giving up or leaving us or saying fuck tf2, but you can;t ignore that if they've made that decision they are going to be committed to another game, I guess people can;t see it the way I see it and perhaps I'm pessimistic, and of course their are lots of people that work behind the scenes, but really most people on this list are not replaceable at this time in tf2's history, despite how much they deny that fact.

People are insta-babyraging because it seems like I'm berating them, I respect their autonomy and ability to make developments in their career, I'm simply brainstorming about how this will affect tf2's production if their org takes off.

These guys owe us nothing, and AFAIK aren't under contract, and you're calling them 'sellouts'? What the fuck?

Seriously, congrats to all of these guys for a well-earned paycheck. Frankly, production orgs have been stupid to not have already picked up some of the talent that was paying to produce for the tf2 scene.

The thing is, some of us want to make a career out of esports. With TF2 in its current state, that just isn't possible. And frankly, I can't wait around for a year or more on some hope that an esports scene may one day thrive in this game. I can't speak for anyone else, but I reckon others feel the same.

While everyone here may not love Overwatch, I personally do. I genuinely enjoy the game in a competitive setting. Of course, I love TF2 as well. I mean it is my favorite FPS of all time, hands down. If both games had the same kind of opportunity present, I would pick TF2 any day of the week. But I'd be a fool if I didn't try to further my career by being involved with Overwatch. Be careful when using the term 'sellout'.

With all that being said, at the moment my primary focus is Overwatch. However, I plan to stay involved with TF2 in whatever capacity I can. And as a side note, my availability for i58 is unknown at the moment.

This is great! I hope to see some of my favorite TF2 casters casting Overwatch cause I honestly tried watching some of the casters that are out there on youtube and it's boring af. Can't wait to see the IBP invitational.

i think my quote is still relevant:

yttriumI don't care if I'm downfragged. You guys really need to man up if you're so scared about someone in your own community putting his heart into something you personally don't like. It doesn't fucking matter if you like it or not, experimentation and competition is what makes this community evolve. Lessons learned from other games can always be applied here.

Stupid thread. They've been working their asses off at LANs for nothing, it's about time they make some money off of a game in dire need of quality talent.

It is personally disappointing to see such talented individuals refocus their efforts on something I find absolutely no interest in, but at the end of the day that's their choice.
