#96 Everyone thank the production team ITT in TF2 General Discussion

Great event, great work by everybody involved. Many of the people who did such outstanding work this weekend are doing outstanding streams every week. I would urge everybody who enjoyed this event to support those streams if you don't already. Go follow, subscribe, donate, or even just watch and participate in chat.

That's honestly fucking awesome. Hard work, talent, and guts should pay off eventually, and I wish the best to all these guys.

#60 Valve Visit in TF2 General Discussion

I have never thought that Valve doesn't know what they're doing. They are a giant in the industry and I don't think many rational people think Valve actually doesn't know what they're doing. My concern has always been, and is still, that what Valve wants for TF2 is very different from what I want for TF2. The fact that they are competent at realizing those mis-aligned goals is not comforting.

It's like saying that Budweiser is a leader in the brewing industry. This is absolutely true, objectively, and few could argue it. They do not, however, make a product that I want to consume. They know what they're doing, but what they're doing isn't really my thing.

Geel9You're never going to get information on future updates from valve. You can't promise those sorts of things in their position.

I don't think that's quite fair. You are correct, that they can't promise things in their position, but it is a position that they manufactured themselves. The reason Valve cannot make those statements is because they only significantly change TF2 every 6 months or so, which is their own decision. Developers that are working on a game regularly and consistently can very easily say "We are working on implementing X by changing Y and adding a Z. If that doesn't work, we'll change it based on player feedback."

#37 invite scout push to talks in TF2 General Discussion
noidayI had this crazy idea one day of using a driving wheel's accelerator pedal to talk. Since I'm poor and don't own one, I plugged in an old ps2 controller adapter and used joy2key to make the analog sticks configurable in mumble. So I press my foot down on the stick basically (that's on the floor!) and it toggles my ptt in mumble. Another, albeit crazy, option for you :D

I have two pedals, one bound to left strafe and one bound to right strafe.

This is super cool. When I win the mousepad I want Crowns to sign it but I want Bren to shout "sliver of HP" at it.

#25 NA Panda Pugs Summer Tournament - Sponsored by EVL in TF2 General Discussion
Panda-DaveButtface_JonesHow much competitive experience is expected from the participants?Panda-DaveNow, this is going to be a small, friendly NA 6v6 tournament consisting of 48 players from silver/open to create 8 teams.
We say this is a tournament for silver/open, however steel players can participate too. This tournament should not be for extremely new players or extremely experienced players.

Perfect, thank you!

#153 Ronin cuts phorofor, poaches Nursey in News

Trying to get caught up on reading, I stumbled on this today: http://www.thespire.tv/esea-invite-preseason-interviews-phorofor/

"Our team didn’t have enough drama. If you look at everything that is happening with other teams a lot of stuff is going on for them. But our team has no drama. I wanted drama."
