kosit's a shame that he's probably the most well known competitive player. Must be offputting for newcomers to see something like this on stream.

Also the "I'm a nice guy" ending was fucking hilarious rofl.

Hey now. Most WoW pvpers are complete immature retards who spout memes but it still gets Blizzard some extra traffic. I mean, how bad can more 8) meatshot scouts be for matchmaking?

That aside, b4nny is like most Twitch personalities. In one way you can imagine them putting on an act to get views and attention, but on the other hand, the few times they try to be serious and real talk, they come across as complete idiots anyway, so the act suddenly falls apart.

Had a giggle at "(...) That don't want to stream to show that their personality is garbage". Isn't it the exact reason this shitpost exists, b4nny got drunk enough for his mask to fall off?

It'd be fun to see someone hook him in the jaw at lan though.

I went to a LAN in Seattle a few years ago and as soon I got there banny offered to help me carry all of my shit inside. I know it wasn't the most selfless act of all time, but it was still pretty cool to have a top invite player I've never really talked to be so friendly to me. I think banny is still a good guy deep down, he is just having a ton of trouble adjusting to popularity as a personality as opposed to when he was just known as that one guy who is really good at demoman. A lot of things happened to him pretty close to each other that can easily have a huge effect on one's personality, such as becoming a super popular streamer, becoming much more physically attractive, winning international events, and getting a girlfriend (or whatever his deal with Lauren was lol). I know these werent original observations but I do think that people often blame his personality change on just one thing when its really a whole bunch things that have affected him on so many levels who he is. I realize that I may be coming off as a banny sub/apologist (which I'm not!), I just think that its important to keep all of what's happened in mind as we continue to discuss this issue. Maybe if we talk about why he is the way he is instead of what he is he'll have some sort of dramatic self realization and grow out his hair again.

b4nnyDrPloxob4nnyThis is now an AMA thread. I dare you.Do you use this game to vent some emotional issues that you fail to process irl?Not at all. I am a very emotionally stable person. That being said, TF2 is my main competitive outlet so your perception is very skewed. Yes, I like to win in TF2 and I will try to win in a competitive setting whether its a pug, scrim or match. Outside of that, I am a very easy going person. I met you at GXL and I can almost guarantee that I did nothing to offend you. Spare me from your projections and diagnoses.

U really didn't understand his insult. The point was you're only nice IRL because you're a dick in video games. Honestly if you can't be a good sportsman you shouldn't stream or be the public face of the community imo, good players who are shitty people with shitty attitudes are a lot less fun than alright players who are chill. If the #1 streamer was on an IM joke team and spent 2/3rds of the time having fun and not being a dick the game'd be better off :)

I would rather have our most prominent player be a sometimes-rude narcissist than someone who calls their opponents faggots or racial slurs during streamed esea officials, something we seem to be unable to address.

b4nny is just kind of an awkward dude over compensating. Like he was the bullied nerd but suddenly he got semi popular and lost his pudge, ponytail and acne and got really good at something and now he's struggling to figure out how to act. He seems like he gets really insecure when he gets dunked on since I think most of his self-worth is derived from being the best at TF2. The best thing that could happen is he starts losing and he'll grow out of it and probably come back with a healthier sense of worth and balance.

b4nnyTobWith the stream list being implemented to the main menu would you consider hosting other competitive players to help the competitive TF2 twitch community grow?
[answer]

you literally just said here that you value the hosting tool when it benefits you and when you host4host with peers. what's stopping you from hosting less popular streamers/streamers with a generally different viewerbase? (apart from the fact that you've been challenged about the feature a few times recently so you're less likely to do it now)

I don't watch streams for more than 60 seconds but I love watching people be raw as fuck. It's fun, entertaining and causes some healthy drama. Nobody wants to watch some guy meekly say things like "ah ha, nice one man" or "yes, he's not the best and has a lot to work on :)". It's not even about being nice or mean it's about being genuine; saying what you feel inside. People like to watch fire burn. He obviously knows how to turn it off for when it's time to be serious. If a little shittalk gets you riled up then what are you doing in a competitive environment?

b4nnyI am one of the few top level players who streams often and thus I am constantly under the microscope. Anything said can be taken out of context and turned into an 8+ page thread. I've accepted this and I don't let it stop me from putting myself out there. Generally I will keep things pretty focused on TF2, so the most salacious thing I tend to say is something along the lines of "you are not very good at TF2." To the TFTV community, this apparently crosses every line. However at the same time you have other top invite and prem players that habitually spout bigotry, sometimes even on stream, and they are still embraced by the community. The real difference is that most top level players are extremely secretive and entrenched in their cliques and circlejerks so you never actually see their true colors. I don't know if you remember the MedRed/Ash/Showstopper drama from last year, but all of that erupted because someone finally got a peek at what was really going on in the cesspool that is the 20b/ronin circlejerk. I am more of a loner, and I don't waste my time seeking reinforcement from my closest mates behind closed doors. I am much more open to talking to new people and sharing my honest opinions and thoughts. That's why I stream and will answer any question from curious people. You should all come by some time.

:)

99% of players shittalk. I'm pretty sure I've called every player in prem a mouthbreathing retarded fuckhead. This is probably even more true as you get to the higher levels since there is a strong correlation between arrogance and skill. The key difference is that people rein it in when they're streaming because honestly it just looks bad, it gives people who are watching a very bad impression of the games community. You seem completely oblivious to this, and even seem to be proud that you air your dirty laundry for everyone to see?. Also, the justification of shittalking like this by saying that other people do it is completely flawed even.

Also,

b4nnyI don't waste my time seeking reinforcement from my closest mates behind closed doors

As far as I can tell this is the purpose of your stream.
