Looking for some decent headphones that have good noise cancellation. They will mainly be used to listen to music/watching videos when I am studying or in my free time. My price range is prob anything under ~$80. Thanks in advance!

on the right of the brand names it says the prize and open/closed (you want closed)

consider what music you usually listen to, you'd want the bass to be more emphasized and treble more neutral if you listen to a lot of bass-heavy music, though the bass can be boosted with most amps/soundcards
removable cable if you carry it around a lot
active noise cancelling (doesnt matter with closed headphones)
driver style you want dynamic
pads (and headband pressure) matter when you wear the headphones really long, otherwise just try out some pads in a shop and pick comfy ones

or you can pick IEMs

If you want on hear headphonees I can recommend the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, it's the ones I have and I bought them second hand for around $70 and they are amazing, they're closed and have really good noise cancelling. Already have them for like 4 years and only had to replace pads and they look like new

I second this. I got these headphones a month ago and they're amazing. Really great for most music because they're flat, which I personally like, and they're hella comfy too. You also can't hear most background noise when you have them on, so that's a plus.

Personally I think sound isolation is fine, most headphones block out plenty of noise

I haven't found that noise cancellation is worth any premium, but if its at the same price then why not

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-ZERO-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00GWU8FAE

Those are the best ones I used, I had them at ESEA/I55/GXL and they blocked everything really well. I know the price isnt -80 but for anyone looking to get a solid headset, this is an amazing deal imo.

The game zero headphones are a 50 Ohm reskin of the 150 Ohm PC 350 SE headphones.
Edit: rip the 350s used to be $125 on Amazon for months but it looks like the price went up.

That's where i bought mine from...ridiculous deal.

I know a lot of people are turned off from buying "used" - however you can find the 350 series headsets on eBay for sub $100. You can buy replacement earpads for $15 bucks as well to give them that new feeling. If you didn't need it in headset form, the HD380's are essentially the same without the microphone.

Having a quality set of cans can make a huge difference, sometimes it's worth it to wait, save a few more bucks, and go for the right deal.
