my advice is to goto the lowest sensitivity you can that still allows you to pull off a 180 flick rjump or track enemies at least 180 degrees comfortably.

What that is is going to depend greatly on how you grip your mouse, size of mousepad, if your keyboard is in the way etc.

I find when speccing a lot of lower players that they seem to have sensitivities that are either way to high (no precision and they are overcorrecting everywhere), or way too low (can't track fast movement well, get disoriented).

Some of that is they just don't have enough precision regardless, but I think a lot could be improved by using a more sensible sensitivity.

But to answer your question: It's the distance you have to move your mouse on your mousepad to make a full turn in-game, i.e. to return to the same point.

ie centimetres/inches per 360 degree turn

I'm using 3.06 at 900 dpi and feels good aiming while leaving it easy enough to rock jump comfortably at the same time

Edit; oy a bump

a spreadsheet I made when I got really bored. Took a bunch of the sensitivities from one of the threads on this forum.

Average in/360 among TF2 players is 9.8in

also recorded classes when possible/removed multiple submissions *cough* dflame *cough* so you could get a line parser and find out the average sens for soldiers and use that if you want.

But hey if you like a 5in/360 then use it.
