valve should revert demo damage, and then add an attribute where he gets weaker as more friendly demomen join one team. Boom fixes both pubs and competitive.

I need to see what happens when a scout denies you with this.

Its pretty difficult for any scout to do significant damage when soldiers are sky box high.

the amount of distraction/firepower this thing could potentially draw is pretty interesting to think about though

Nobody in their right mind would do that though. Insta-detting on sentries didn't work because between normal repairing/rescue ranger, you couldn't outdamage healing.

I don't think they actually modified it's base damage. If they didn't change it's base damage then the wrangler is fine (and by fine I mean retarded, but not to the point where it'd be banned in HL).

The only thing this nerf to demo man did was reinforce the plus forward scout and make last points like gullywash and badlands nearly impossible, stickies on point will be good for the defender but now the pushing team will likely be mulched while waiting for a demo to ensure that the cap. I predict several 0-0 games out of the upcoming lan events.z

Seriously, I almost forgot how fun it is to play with new weapons. The new soldier stuff is so incredibly fun. Raining down 7 rapid fire rockets while floating over the enemy med? Oh my god yes.

Other than the over zealous nerf for demos this is probably the best update TF2 has had in quite a long time. It both added a lot of fun to the game BASE Jumper and Taunts included, it nerfed Heavies and Sentries slightly, and it even included some performance upgrades on A LOT of maps.

BooopIn valve's eyes, demo=defensive class and stickies=secondary weapon. So the new update did just that. Demos now are more focused on stickying off space, setting up traps on mid for the two sec ramp up and utilizing pipes more often.

im all for that, but not with 4 pipes, and not with 500 self damage on those W happy scouts

Performancewise this update was amazing. I was getting frame drops every time I got near to a medic healing gun while healing. Now I'm getting a constant 150 fps in a higher resolution and on directx 9 (used to play on dx8)

In regards, to demoman, I feel this was Valve trying to make a change back to what they intended demoman to be. His stickies were a tool of territorial denial, not necessarily constant damage output. Take a listen to the developer commentary.
