only have them on for melee since i find it easier to melee with them on. viewmodels take up too much of the screen and the animations are distracting imo

On for most things. I've tried to play both with viewmodels on and off on everything, and the only noticable difference it made was that when I didn't use viewmodels I would sometimes lose track of which weapon I had out (small lag spikes and running out of ammo and such would be the cause) and also I would sometimes lose track of my crosshair on particularly bright maps, causing me to miss a whole bunch.

Having them on just has more advantages to me, although I still prefer them off on stickies, minigun and sometimes scatter. I'll switch it up every once in a while to spice things up

I am not using them. I guess it is probably placebo effect, but I feel like I am hitting more shots without viewmodels and generally it just feels better without models for me.

on for the sniper rifle, melee, stickies, medigun/kritz and i switch between on and off on the rocket launcher. but usually off for the remainder of the weapons i use. less distraction and it gives me more potential to see what i need to instead of having a giant ass viewmodel reloading and getting in my way.

I stopped using them awhile ago when I read that it's good for seeing more and eventually got used to having none, but recently I switched back to having them on because it doesn't seem like much of a big difference to really matter.

It's placebo at its finest, but I feel like I aim better with them on. At least with the pistol and stock RL anyway.

I use them off to see more.
I have a toggle that turns them on for melee.
I also use viewmodel_fov 0 where applicable.

Don't use them at all for most classes but toggle them on for demo rollouts and medic sometimes, also like to to just toggle them on to check but 90% of the time they are off.

Off if i find the model too big and it takes up to much of the screen. I usually keep them on though, for some reason it helps me aim with certain weapons.

I've been trying out a weird system with binds where slot1 - slot3 (which I use to switch weapons) turns the viewmodels on so I can see what weapon I am pulling out, but mouse1 turns them off so the viewmodels go away when I need to start shooting stuff. I've been meaning to tweak it so viewmodels always stay on for melee, but I hardly use melee and have been too lazy to bother.

I fucking spam my viewmodel toggle bind because I apparently have ADHD. Usually off though, the rocket launcher model is just way too big. On for melees though.
