So I've been looking to buy a chair recently, but I don't really know what to look for in particular.
Do you guys recommend any brands specifically? And does investing a large amount into a chair really make a difference, and at what price point does that difference start to drop off?
It would also be cool if you guys recommended specific chairs that you are using or have used in the past :)
I haven't really got a budget mainly because I don't know what I should be paying.

I bought a $70 chair and after a year and a half I'm feeling like an upgrade is necessary

Just get something where you can sit upright and still rest your head if you need to. I have a mid back chair and it gets real tiring sitting up straight after a while. My friend has dxracers in her apartment and they're pretty great but I'm sure you could find a knock off for cheap

You will have to tear my Steelcase chair from under my cold dead ass before I give it up. Worth every penny. The top of the range or the latest model is probably a diminishing return on any investment though.

Can confirm use a Steelcase Chair at work and my work was going to throw a near perfect condition one away and I took that one home lol.

https://store.steelcase.com/seating/office-chairs/leap-3d-knit
is the closest model to what I have $1000 new

Kinda sad though the one I use at work is really starting to get worn...

My work had a Steelcase Leap v2 and it was 100% the comfiest chair that I've ever sat in, currently saving up for one. Best price I can find in the UK is here: https://www.2ndhnd.com/collections/steelcase?gclid=CjwKEAjwxJnNBRCMqNXM6vKAq1wSJADxf_5BHddMWOK7DER6zI9RoZmQw5Kd3gOxskKhWjlgxdIyyRoCoGzw_wcB

Go to an office supply store and try sitting in them to see what you like

if you spend lots of time on the computer, adjustable lumbar support is nice

best chair I ever had was whatever absurdly expensive chair I had at my last office job (edit: it was a Steelcase but I couldn't tell you which model) and now I'm completely spoiled so I just got some $80 pleather thing from staples

edit 2: I think it was this or whatever it's precursor was https://store.steelcase.com/seating/office-chairs/think
