Yea I tried using the instructions that are commented in on the pastebin. As for spaces I figured that's what I would use to get the text into the middle of the screen but I forgot about how it would need to line up perfectly in the center.

Come to think of it, if someone can manage to change the size of the crosshair font you could just vary the font size slightly to do the more fine adjustments that extra/less spaces can't accomplish.

So I saw turts' post about using developer 1 and echo commands and had the idea to try to use that as yet another method of displaying a custom crosshair. If it works as intended, you should be able to do something like "1" bound to bring up your primary and one of fog's crosshairs, then "2" bring up your secondary and a different crosshair from fog's crosshair font. I haven't put much effort into this and I'm not exactly a hud/font expert but this is what I have after a bit of toying around.

I changed the font for the echo text from whatever it is by default to fog's crosshair font by following the same process outlined in the SPUF post turts' linked. I've hit a roadblock at the moment though because I can't figure out how to change the size of the text that "echo" displays. I imagine there's someone out there more motivated than myself who thinks this would be pretty cool. Any ideas?

Does it happen on all servers or just some? Some servers won't let you download the map so when you connect it will just give you a popup saying "missing map blah.bsp"

Try these commands to make sure everything is enabled:

I've played on a team with everyone there but defy (whom I've played a few pugs with) and I can safely say this this team's mumble will be filled with fun times.

Seymour will be screaming that he's a duck while novice simultaneously asks *your name here* for heals in exchange for a butt touch (can confirm he does in fact touch butts, met him at LAN). With all this happening defy is probably hitting some sick double airshot as a scout sneaks through to kiss Mike on the cheek; queue the "defy stop being bad" (love you mike <3). W, Seven, Robyn will probably just sing in mumble the whole time while holding down her namesake key all night (she makes it work don't worry).

On a more serious note, this team has some players with a lot of experience in this game and I'm sure it'll be a fun ride for whoever jump on board.

Do you have that jump script that gives you a hundred rockets in a clip in a local server? I could have sworn this glitch used to happen with that script.

Check your power settings and make sure your cpu isn't under clocking itself to save power/cool down. If it's under clocking to save power you can fix that through the power settings like this. If it's slowing down to cool off, you can fix that by getting a laptop cooling pad or making sure none of the vents are blocked off or clogged with dust.

What do you guys think of the quality on this? Instead of using Lawena or something similar I used Nvidia Shadowplay(realtime recording like fraps at 1080p 60fps with essentially no performance impact) alongside a modified Chris' HQ config. It was all recorded in realtime and thrown straight into Vegas, there was no extra time rendering the frames then using virtualdub or srcdemo2.

I sure hope not, I love KOTH and think it makes 6v6 really exciting to play/watch.

Mainline should get another look since it's kind of hard to evaluate a map when teams run two old-style-super-OP Natascha heavies.

Sunshine is a really beautiful map that looks like it could play well, but it has yet to be tested by actual teams as far as I know(although that's the problem with almost every custom map :/ ). For real though, a TF.TV sponsored tournament to test new maps would go a LONG way toward choosing quality maps for the season instead of rolling the dice like we do now.

Even though that GPU is pretty old now, it still shouldn't have a problem running TF2(especially with a gfx config). To go along with that, generally TF2 is CPU limited so I kind of doubt it's the capability of your GPU that's the problem. From what you described it almost sounds like something in your computer(either CPU or GPU) is overheating(albeit with some funky symptoms) so before you even look at new parts try giving your PC a good cleaning.

Now for the whole black screen issue, have you updated your Nvidia drivers recently? It sounds like Windows is recycling the video driver causing that black screen and device disconnected/connected sounds.

Out of curiosity what kind of machine are you running on right now(CPU/GPU/RAM)?

If you still want your game to look pretty nice but also get better fps, DX9 frames is the way to go. However if you also want to use dx8 on an Nvidia GPU you're forced to rollback to like two year old drivers(Nvidia 306.97 found here) so your textures don't flicker.
