when i was like 9 years old i had this dream that there was a zombie apocalypse. for some reason it was just me and my dad at one of my aunt/uncle's homes. the home caught on fire really quickly and like everything was burning except there wasn't any smoke. a zombie came out from another room and we started running but then i had to stop because my shoe was untied so my dad starting tying my shoe really quickly but the zombie was catching up so he threw the shoe at it and we started running again and then i woke up

#1 you cant just flick a switch and "optimise." if there were easy optimisations to make, theyve have been done. anything to fix the longstanding problems the game has likely requires a lot of rewriting or even an engine rewrite
#2 class limits arent a necessity, and they're arguably a lazy fix (but basically the best option by this point i'd agree)
#3 god yes i hate that sound constantly in mm
#4 the damage has been done tbh. they could bring back quickplay but community servers will take years to recover
#5 see, i dont give a shit about this. all i'd want is the ability to change teams when i can, but honestly if i could never play against friends in a pub that doesnt sound fun to me.

HOISplitting up a 5cp map into 4 2 point sections and making it territorial control could have a similar effect provided that the round timer was 2 mins and a stalemate was a loss for the team with mid control. I don't think a plugin would be necessary and It could be interesting but potentially just less fun than normal 6s. One issue would be that whichever team begins with mid control would have an obvious advantage and I'm not sure what a good way to fix that would be other than assigning mid control randomly after a last point has been captured or just to to the team that previously lost.
