Seen it quite a few times. Maybe the problem is that I think too hard about not dying and getting the frag rather than just aiming better.
I should have mentioned that I understand that I shouldn't be in 1v1s as much as possible. I listed it as an example situation because it still happens and it's what I thought of as a time where my scout vs scout DM should be good enough to either a) get the pick or b) hold my own well enough to get out of it.
I can barely DM against other scouts, and as silly as it sounds, it's kind of frustrating. I know it shouldn't be a huge problem, but it would really help if I could actually do something in situations where I need to be able to point and click at them (1v1s, helping someone, etc).
Sooooo what to do? I DM and pug a decent amount. I haven't much lately but I mean this has been a concern even when I played too much.
Any advice on this or is it just "practice, practice, practice"?
obe_Having a problem with maps. I go to create a listen server and my downloaded maps aren't there. I backed them up but to my knowledge I shouldn't need to worry about that. I checked the downloads folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\download\maps) and my maps are there but they just aren't showing up ingame. What's up?
* Installing custom maps for local hosting or custom content to play on sv_pure 0 (like models) or just hitsounds: Same as previous – Put everything in /custom/mystuff/. So it might look like /custom/mystuff/maps/mge_v8.bsp or /custom/mystuff/materials/naked_models.vmt
You can local host maps that are in /download/ location if you type map mapname in console, but the names wont come up from GUI main menu. Any custom models need to be in /custom/mystuff/ folder though for them to work!
why am i even allowed to load tf2 this quickly
i don't even know what to do with all of this extra time
Saint_kirbyI honestly do not have an option to OPT into the Steampipe beta, only a "Steam Beta". Is this the same thing?
its in the tf2 properties -> beta
Nothing happens. I click "steampipe -" and underneath it, it says "successfully opted into the Steampipe beta". It says "successfully opted out of all content betas" if I click to opt out of anything. I know I didn't successfully opt into and out of the Steampipe beta in less than a second.
Regardless of what I choose there's no "okay" button, only "close".

I'm sure he'll find his way to this thread
I don't know why people are backing up files that don't need it. The entire TF folder doesn't need to be backed up. Only p-rec, demos, configs, maps, hud files and maybe your hitsound.
No. You can manipulate the camera with POV demos, but you won't be able to see the character model of the player that owns the POV.
Dunno how useful this is, but you have to shoot the neck to get a headshot on demo facing away from you. Kind of silly, but yeah.
Indimanshould I basically just back up my entire tf folder?
no, because you'll be backing up too many unnecessary files. just back up what you need to and let steam do the rest.
