#42 Attack on Titan in Off Topic

It's pretty decent. Most of the anime that started in the spring season were pretty dire (beside Hataraku Maou Sama which was hilarious) so it was one of the few from then that I enjoyed watching.

It is a shounen anime first of all and there's nothing wrong with that. It actually went from pretty interesting to pretty mediocre though for me halfway through rather than the opposite. It always had its flaws but it was still enjoyable to watch. The main characters are actually the least interesting unfortunately but some of the side cast are really good. Not really important to the actual anime but I really like the first OP too.

The biggest problem of the anime is making you care about the main storyline. Especially now in the second half, it became a lot more bland and the enjoyable part of the anime are the character interactions and the action sequences.

Again, I think part of the reason I liked it at first was probably partly due to the fact that there was only one other good show that season but it is definitely not a bad series, just a decent one with quite a few problems. It's not something I'd recommend to anyone but it's not something I'd drop either. Most of what I said sounds pretty negative but I do enjoy watching it still.

It also has the most hilarious facial expressions.

#15 Making my PC capable of streaming. Upgrades needed in Hardware

I've been looking to upgrade my own computer and I've read/been told Haswell isn't really worth it for anything beside the new socket and it's better to go for the 3570k if you want to overclock (because the haswell heats up more or something?). Can anyone confirm or deny?

#23 Kaidus' Rollout Workshop - June 22nd 19BST/14EDT in Mentoring
Cruzhow are either of those "new"

Dunno about new, but it's definitely revised from the 'standard'. Most demomen put their first sticky on the pillar and when going big door, they only do the one sticky jump and then walk. Seacow didn't do them that well in the video (no offense :S) but the first sticky on the floor and the second sticky when going big door is meant to cut out walking time. This will get you there fast enough to potentially kill or lock out a choke demoman unless they're aware of this rollout and can get to choke fast enough.

This is kaidus' vod of the workshop: http://www.twitch.tv/kaidus/c/2533976

#11 what sensitvity should i use for scout? in TF2 General Discussion
logicallyhaha i change sensitivity like every day or so, and im comfortable with it

Same, but I'm trying hard to stick to my current one (I use accel so I just have even more settings to unnecessarily fiddle with :(). You can get used to a new sensitivity almost immediately, but that doesn't mean you'll have the consistency and confidence in your muscle memory that people who stick to their sensitivity for years.

If you want to compare to other top tf2 players: http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/2480-prem-invite-mouse-settings

Most people will tell you, just play at a sensitivity you feel comfortable with. I'd argue that lowering your sensitivity doesn't necessarily make your aim better too. If you need somewhere to start, try anywhere between 25cm and 35cm per 360 and tweak from there.

Use http://www.notalent.org/sensitivity/sensitivity.htm to check your actual sensitivity.

#321 yahud in Customization
Yggdrasili really love this hud and the possibilities of customization have improved a lot since the first release :D

1 question though:

How do i change the font used in the main menu?
Also a bit earlier everything was in caps, i liked that actually a lot...any possibilty to revert the hud (partially) to that CAPSLOCK state?

also: the low-ammo/health animation stays sometimes after dying with low-health/ammo..well not the animation (pulsation) itself but the (red) colour. is there any way to fix that?

hud_reloadscheme should fix the red health/ammo bug temporarily but I think it's just a bug you have to live with.

Regarding the old font, he said: "I won't be able to update a version with the old font. Creating the new version was more than just changing the font sadly in the clientscheme. A lot of elements needed adjusting and tweaking to not be off-center or have glitchy text."

Only way would be to use the old version of the hud.

#3 Sudden performance increase? in TF2 General Discussion
Renhetempty serverwell yeah

He said he checked it on the benchmark demo, not the empty server (which you can confirm by the fact it's 2639 frames for both fps logs).

"so I went through the whole benchmark demo from that thread from a while ago and have like 20-30 more frames"

#7 Getting serious, wat do in TF2 General Discussion

If you're able to find 5 other players just as keen as you with good attitudes that you get on with and then just stick with that same roster, you'll all improve massively in no time.

I'm pretty shit myself, but I can play scout/soldier to div 2 level and I'd be willing to help you out/your team out if you have no one else. Add me on steam and I'll try and do my best. (http://etf2l.org/forum/user/23718/)

I know what it feels like to be lacking in aim in comparison to other players at your level. You seem really keen and as long as you have a good mentality, you'll be fine. I remember playing on scout on mge and you seemed quite decent.

In terms of improving individually, beside dm and playing in a team, playing on http://pickup.con-gaming.net/ and http://tf2pickup.net/ will be great practice since most of the players will have more experience than you.

Watching your own demos is incredibly important. Not enough players do it, but it will definitely help you. Identify mistakes you're making in your play, and in the next games you play, focus on improving those individual aspects. Dedicated practice is a lot more efficient than simply playing a lot while trying to 'play better'. Ideally, these demos will be from scrims with your team.

Luckily, there's plenty of resources online especially now that is really helpful. The crack clan videos and yuki's demo reviews to name two. Just getting better at being able to identify mistakes will help loads.

Beside that, just think about everything you do carefully and making logical decisions based off what you know rather than just running around deathmatching.

Practice aim, develop game understanding and decision making and have a good attitude to playing (this is a useful read: http://www.iamgaming.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4174&title=eg-chances-quake-bible) and you'll be fine.

Sorry about the wall of text, I probably repeated myself a few times (I'm really tired right now).

Anybody else getting this?
troghttp://i.imgur.com/EgEy72I.png

help what have I done

also the book10shadow and book11shadow have the wrong tall values

I think you guys may have tried to save the hud in the wrong location.

Delete the resource and scripts folder from both \Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\ and from \steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\<whateveryourcustomfolderis>

Then verify your game files and it'll recreate the original resource/scripts file.

Finally, reinstall the hud and make sure you place it in the custom folder (like this: http://i.imgur.com/Xhz0fYc.jpg).

ninjazztrogGood idea.

http://pastebin.com/RfEsAFsy

Great work, I added it as an alt file to the HUD (hope you don't mind!); in a slightly altered version to fit the winpanel a bit better. I also made the hit region for the buttom a lot bigger (includes the white labels now)

http://i.imgur.com/dyESc2m.jpg

also still WIP :)

You could also just remove the white boxes with the blu/red writing and just have the 2 coloured cirlces to make it even simpler?

#10 Mouse acting up in Hardware
MagikarpVirulenceThe Zowie EC1/EC2 is basically a DeathAdder without drivers. 100% plug-and-play. Very similar shape to the DeathAdder, and comes with spare feet. I recommend it if you're thinking of replacing. Do consult the other mouse help threads first, though.I been thinking about the Zowie or Deathadder, my 2nd thoughts were on the SteelSeries Sensei which I think people said were good? Also, I wish someone made a central mouse thread where they put on the top 10 mouses that people are currently using, pros and cons for each, and they could plus frag their mouse for each post to see which mouse is used alot to get an idea of what's good and bad.
Do they sell the Zowie in stores? I think it's european.

Zowie EC1/2 and AM/FK are all great mice with the same great optical sensor but different weight/shape etc. I'd advice looking on their site or youtube or whatever to see which you'd prefer. Hoping to get an FK myself when I can afford one.
The deathadder is also really popular but the Steelseries Sensei (which I have now) is reported to have slight positive acceleration (I use accel anyway so I wouldn't know) and laser sensors are generally not as good as optical ones. I also don't like the feel of it and want a lighter mouse and the FK is similar in shape to it.
Beside the Zowie mice and Deathadder, the other most commonly recommended mice are the Logitech G400 and the WMO (might be a bit harder to get one of these though).
