Someone who holds positions that I agree with. Right now the system is set up such that the main criteria for deciding who to vote for is, "who do I hate the least?" This is a system that necessarily leads to the majority of people having their positions be unrepresented in government, which is the opposite of the whole idea behind representative government. And the next logical step from, "my vote will not be representative of me or my ideas" is to say, "therefore I will not vote."

I said that I was sorry for saying what I did and would try to be respectful in the future. At this point it doesn't even matter anyway, I talked to Daf about it and he told me there was nothing he could do because the other admins (whether that's the sixes admins or the head admins, I don't know) don't care.

If you want the full story, my team was trying roster Owib for the rest of the season. Through a comedy of errors that doesn't matter at this point, nobody talked to an admin about getting him rostered or anything until the day of the match, so to have him play he would officially be a ringer, even though we were planning on rostering him. When match time came, Jag waited until 10 minutes after our match time to tell us the ringer was denied (he didn't count as a default ringer because he was previously on an advanced roster), and then threatened to "force the issue" (presumably meaning he intended to report a forfeit win) if we didn't play right then. So in a scramble to find a way to play, Jag denied a few other players, and after talking to Daf (I'm pretty sure he was in the middle of playing a match or scrim of his own at the time, too) we figured the only way to play that wouldn't be 5v6 was to have Owib med (Daf specifically said he could play medic and only medic as a default ringer) and have me play scout/soldier (without warmup I'm pretty awful on both, and Owib wasn't the best medic either). Already tilted and with 2 players playing classes they were VERY uncomfortable on, we got rolled. Before we started I told Jag & friends that what they were doing was bullshit and I wasn't happy with the way they were handling the situation. And then after we got rolled I said, "bad players [BAD WORD] wins" and left the server.

Did I fuck up? sure. Was Jag extremely fucking petty and unsportsmanlike through our match and then continued to act like a child by reporting me? yep. Am I sorry? I'm sorry if I hurt any feelings, but I strongly suspect I didn't. At this point it doesn't really matter though, I'm certainly never playing RGL again after this season, and as a result probably TF2 as a whole. It sucks that this is how it ends, but I'm not really interested in playing a game where this kind of behavior still happens at this level of competition, and where this kind of admin negligence happens at all. Daf was chill and down to earth with me about this after the fact, and I haven't spoken to any of the other admins for any problems like this before, but clearly there's some flaw in the system. I hope it gets sorted out before some other idiot like me gets banned for being mad on the internet, but I won't be around to see it either way. I love you guys and I'll miss the way this game used to make me feel, but I don't have the mental wherewithal to deal with this level of bullshit. cu@ RGB, hope I get to go out with another banger of a LAN.

I actually practice a lot on the class that I play, but forcing me to offclass because Daff decided 20 minutes after our match was supposed to start that our player can only play medic isn't something I can say is in my practice regimen. I'll make sure that I add that though. After all, you've gotta be ready for anything in Team Fortress Two!

We'll call it even though, since you did get to pick up invite players just in time for our match last season.

Yeah I usually do that every year from Halloween to Christmas because I don't have any friends in real life and it's really hard to think of shit that will force me to go outside and be around people when it's freezing and there's a foot of snow on the ground. Then combine that with seeing everyone else around me be so happy and excited for the holidays, and it just makes me want to crawl into a hole in the ground and disappear forever. The only advice I can give is to not beat yourself up about it, because while it might seem obvious to you now that you aren't doing yourself any good by shutting everyone else out, it's important to remember that when you're in that frame of mind, how incredibly difficult it is to even just imagine a way, or a reason, to come back. Being depressed is one thing, but making it worse by blaming yourself for being depressed is a bad way to go.

This year I decided to try read more than I had been, and I think I read some stuff that helped me get over myself a little bit. Among a lot of other stuff, I started getting really into David Foster Wallace. I'd been kind of peripherally aware of DFW and what he was all about from osmosis and slick YouTube™ Video Essays™, but when I sat down to actually read him it kind of blew my mind because it was like reading the contents of my own brain. I think the best introduction is probably This Is Water:

Essentially, he's about stripping away the layers and layers of irony and bullshit and all the other junk that we put between our "real" selves and rest of the world and all the people in it, and really trying to just be authentic with people. And realizing that even if you fail, you didn't fail because you're a bad person, but because communicating with people in a real, authentic, genuine, non-bullshit way is really, tremendously, mind-bogglingly hard, because it turns out that we just aren't built for that kind of sitting down and talking to someone. We need the layers of bullshit. They're as much a part of us as the "real" part that we're protecting with them. And once you know that they're there, and that everyone else has got just as many layers to protect themselves, you can really start to get to the heart of whatever other problems you have with people.

sorry if this was kinda rambly and masturbatory. Just know that you ain't alone out there, and you can get over whatever hole you may or may not find yourself in right now.

Straight up not advanced ready. Absolutely capable given the right team and given she has the right attitude for improvement, but don't expect a drop-in scout for advanced. In main she'd be mostly fine, although I'd again stress that her performance is going to be entirely dependent on the team environment. Puzza will put in the work without hesitation, but she needs to see results and if she doesn't, will not have a good time and probably won't continue playing for very long. From playing with her for the first half of last season (she quit, we didn't cut her) I'd say her main issue is probably more to do with coordination and understanding the flow of the game more so than anything to do with her moment-to-moment ability. If she's willing to work with your team, and you're willing to work with her, I'm sure she could solve these issues and be a fantastic player for you. She's fun to hang out with and is definitely a positive influence on the mumble environment. As long as you're aware you're getting a project player (unless she ends up playing like low main or IM, then she'll roll), pick her up.

likely playoff bracket, excluding the dead team. The only thing I'm not sure about is the 12 seed, considering frick is dead, hi-chew would get it now, but six cups has a bye week which should shoot them to just barely above hi-chew in terms of points. However, with viper being banned I don't know whether hi-chew is living or not, and I also don't know if the admins would want to pluck a team from the second lowest in the div to playoffs just because they had the fortune of getting a bye week for their final match.
