joejoe347aurora_why would anyone play this over the weekly gosu and other small (yet not shit) tournys for a 0$ prizepool
This isn't tf2 anymore, the playerbase is massive. Overwatch has ability to support tons of leagues, so even if it's not wildly successful, I'm sure it will have some appeal.
its also a league compared the to weekly tournies which are not, so it has a bit more structure
never thought id see the end of the UK in my lifetime
honestly drinking and playing should be standard for all esea matches at this point

just wanted to update this thread with a new interview
kuliMaybe I'm just getting old but I'd really like to see a clean, 90s-esque arena shooter published nowadays in which players only differ by how much they master the game's mechanical skills. Tired of all the "class-based skills" and "skill tree" shenanigans. If your LG-tracking just sucks you rightfully deserve to lose every fight. No need to dumb down skill ceilings.
Quake was/is my only hope in this regard. I really hope they don't fuck this up.
i laugh everytime i see posts like this because arena shooters come out and then a month later have an insane player peak of 100 a day

respect for updating this thread even though no one else has posted for literally a month
BeelthazusIn the beginning, people were getting into the beta because of people they knew who worked at Blizzard. Who here can honestly tell whether or not there is bias in determining who is a cheater? If I was in charge of PR for Overwatch, I would tell whoever is calling the shots for banning to not punish the people who are drawing in the user base (such as surefour). It's in my honest opinion that this recent ban wave proves nothing. The only reason this happened was to give confidence back to the player base, and to make an example to anyone who might consider cheating in the future. I'm sure there is more to this then we will ever know.
