#32 ESEA Videos Thingy in TF2 General Discussion

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMtriC1ECtc&list=UL

ESEA has been doing it for ages with counter-strike, if you're planning to make it strictly ESEA frags wouldn't it make sense to upload to that channel instead? They have a pretty big following already as opposed to starting fresh on a tftv channel which might never gain in popularity.

#5 Official KZmod 1.0 in Off Topic

Yeah I think the point was to maintain all the good elements of CS 1.6 and also introduce some new ideas that came from CS:S and maybe some other games. The big advantage of this (at least to someone like me who likes to compete in this sort of stuff) is that there is a whole timer system set up with clear world records, demo submission, etc., much like Quake 3 Defrag has.

#8 How to Make Videos for TF2 in Videos

*54 viewmodel_fov on stv demo = 70 viewmodel_fov on pov demo, not that 1 fov makes any noticeable difference. Adobe Media Encoder and MeGUI are also both very good encoders (interface is more complex but they offer more options than most others).

Nice frags but that was no different than a frag clip.

ZakirlltragicZakirllClandestinePzRelic won?

The Invite Illuminati are getting less subtle in their methods.

Comments like this are why this is the last time I offer help. It's not enough to take time and money to help teams with LAN funds, I can expect a a fair amount of grief from people who purchased tickets because relic won. Stay classy TF2.

I think he was joking, at least I hope.

Just the only person with the balls enough to say it on forums :) I don't think he was serious, just saying what other people have said.

Those comments are clearly joking, it doesn't show you have "balls" by making a big deal out of them.

Rickhow can someone hold their breath underwater for over an hour?

Fill a balloon or container or something with air from your lungs and submerge it?

FogShwanWhy are people buying nexus 4 phones without it supporting 4G LTE? Am I missing something? Jokes on you, Canadians get LTE on Nexus 4 (Band 4 AWS)

My phone supports LTE but it isn't available anywhere within 50 km of my home, jokes on me. :(

OT: The S3 was my first phone so I can't really compare it to anything but I love it so far. I usually hate touch screens since the keys are so small but with the larger keypad option and big screen size the phone is pretty much perfect.

#28 soldier jump scripts in TF2 General Discussion

Just an FYI, when you crouch in game it brings the lower portion of your model upwards as opposed to your head/upper body downwards, although the change in the appearance of the model doesn't accurately represent this. This is why recrouching in midair can make it difficult for opponents (particularly snipers) to hit you since the model and hitbox become separated to a certain degree.

#27 soldier jump scripts in TF2 General Discussion
OdissiuspuddddSo your saying if i rj and dont let go of crouch ill be easier to hit?
Correct, I have been using a duck-jump spacebar script for a long time now...and am trying to go back to the old-fashioned way.

It's hard to go back when you've been playing a certain way for so long.

My advice to OP is to just forget about the scripts.

Why wouldn't you just release the crouch-jump button after rocket jumping? Also your statement of being easier to hit while crouched in the air is completely untrue, the only difference it makes it that projectiles/bullets will push you around more if you are hit.

#12 soldier jump scripts in TF2 General Discussion

I don't really support the use of scripts but everyone saying they limit your ability to do "dynamic" jumps are 100% wrong. If you use them properly you can reach a consistency (particularly for ctaps) which cannot be reached from practice or experience otherwise. That being said, jumping in competitive tf2 is pretty flexible and the difference of a few units you may be missing out on will make no difference.

#14 Pick next weeks Fully Charged topic in TF2 General Discussion

I support the suggestion of maps as a topic; I know Scorpio pretty well and he has a ton of interesting ideas and advice to give regarding mapping in the tf2, and I'm sure some of the other renowned mappers of the community are the same.

#91 tenaciousg looking open scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

I might be speaking out of place here as I don't know you at all, but if you really want to get back into tf2 (after reading this thread) I think it would be in your best interest to start off without a team and instead pug, ring, do whatever you can to get back into the game and into the community. If you do this for the upcoming season and avoid getting caught up in all the invite-hatred of the past I'm sure you'll soon find some friends you enjoy playing with and will be able to form a solid team for season 14. Based off this thread I cannot see it ending well if you come back to the game and immediately jump onto a team after what you said you've been dealing with. Best of luck either way.
