Don't see how you can save JFK without changing the future. Just having that restriction alone means you can't change any major event from the past.

PankeymanI would like to save either Philip Anselmo or JFK from their untimely demises. It's tough for me to decide because these men have done such good for the world.

Phil Anselmo died? What was his untimely demise?

Really now? almost everyone succeeds? No failed doctors out there?

I also think you missed the point of what I posted.

Yes almost everyone succeeds. Only extremely rarely does a person who got through medical school and his residency fail afterwards.
This doesn't mean that terrible doctors and practices don't exist. Unfortunately I've heard and seen stuff that I know was beyond questionable and It's disheartening because you can't do anything about it. However cases like this are few and far between and doctors that fail are even more rare.
Maybe because a lot of us actually care and will try to help in the best way they can :).

Sorry if I missed your point but just saying that without elaborating won't help me understand it any faster.

We probably have different views and definitions of "failing" as a doctor but I wasn't really talking about that and I am not sure how we got there.

My point was that I have been around many students and doctors who have MD's and PhD's but were unable to effectively do the most basic of tasks without directions. Such as filling out a request form that asks for simple information, using a touch screen KIOSK to order a hoagie, etc.

I disagree with saying that just because someone has a piece of paper that says you earned a degree, that it makes you smarter than people around you. Sure that person is intelligent but there is a huge difference between being book smart and being street smart. Being a "smarter person" is a subjective statement.

25DEngineSpaceCadetjdmI mean you guys give him shit for saying that but its pretty likely he is

Just the fact that one gets accepted into a premedical program, however mediocre, still proves one is smarter than the average bear

Working with medical students for almost 20 years has shown me that being "booksmart" and being able to score high in tests means very little in the world after school is over. Many times a piece of framed paper on the wall that says you have a degree is still just a piece of paper.

Really now? Apart from 1 guy in my (final) year I'm pretty sure everyone else will do just fine, if not more. Because you know, one doesn't go from just filling in a piece of paper to standing on his own in a hospital the next day. Once you get accepted almost everyone succeeds.

Carrots are the ultimate food for me. Nothing wrong with some for breakfast. They can be part of just about any major dinner or meal and I don't think they can be beat for late night snacking. I always have several bags in my refrig

saamlol lee even added me to get me to scout for his team when i thought mangled was dying so it's not even like he's above cutting players mid season just mad it was him

In the first 3 weeks I was a sub for 130ms and from what I remember I am pretty sure the reason for saam being added was not because lee wanted to cut sandblast behind his back. The goal was to get a replacement for Thaigrr on scout because he was unable to show for any scrims and matches on a regular basis. Since I can't play scout for shit and sandblast wanted to play roamer, we needed a scout replacement at the time and lee wanted saam.

#173 The State of TF2, Post-Valve Meetings in TF2 General Discussion
MR_SLINSpaceCadetI think Valve is also missing a huge opportunity to host TF2 tournaments and make money at the same time...More tournaments is a very healthy way to expand the competitive player base.I completely agree with you and so does Valve. They see the opportunity for TF2 to become a competitive game, and that's why they spent two years developing the matchmaking game mode. While everyone wants to see tournaments right away, I don't think that it's reasonable to expect Valve to support these large-scale tournaments until their competitive game mode is fully fleshed out. I don't think that 6v6 no class limits is the final version of the competitive game, but once the final game mode is figured out along with their map pool and new class balancing then the game will be much closer to the final product and will be able to support tournaments.

There's no point in hosting a $100k tournament and driving players into your matchmaking game mode only for them to play it and find out that the game mode sucks. The matchmaking game mode has to be developed more first, which is why I'm urging people to be patient.

I'm sorry but I can't agree with your reasoning. Valve doesn't have to "develop the 6v6 game mode" at all. There are 23 Seasons of ESEA, 25 season of ETF2l, 17 seasons of Ozfortress, etc, etc. We have collectively already developed the best way to play 6's that showcases skill and tactics.

All Valve needed to do was pay attention to the comp community and give us the required support.

#145 The State of TF2, Post-Valve Meetings in TF2 General Discussion

Hypothetical Question:

If a TF2 major appeared with prize pools comparable to CSGO, what do you think would happen to the competitive community?

All the players who are in OW right now would return?
Many old faces from the past would return?

#141 The State of TF2, Post-Valve Meetings in TF2 General Discussion

I think Valve is also missing a huge opportunity to host TF2 tournaments and make money at the same time.
Every time a TF2 related item is sold, ask the buyer if they would like a small % of the sale to fund Competitive TF2 tournaments. Not only would this quickly fund the tournament in question but the ppl buying items may get interested in playing in real competitive tournaments. With enough demand, the tournament would be a cash cow for Valve by including an entry fee for all players. Valve essentially gets paid twice and helps expand the competitive community in the process.

More tournaments is a very healthy way to expand the competitive player base.

#131 The State of TF2, Post-Valve Meetings in TF2 General Discussion

The heart of the discussion is how to keep growing the competitive TF2 community.

No easy task given the age of the game combined with newer games taking existing players.
That said, I do believe TF2 still has the potential to be bigger than it has even been in the past. 2 points of interest I see for growth are inside the community itself and attracting new casual players.

When you compare TF2 to other games such as CSGO and Overwatch the largest and most obvious problem is the division within the competitive TF2 community. Half the TF2 community plays in a competitive pub environment called Highlander and the other half plays in a competitive structured environment 6v6. Some play both but not enough to really matter.
Both styles are so different that you cannot hope to merge them together and the TF2 player-base is fractured as a result. Instead of merging styles, the focus should have been (should still be) to merge the entire community of players into 1 solid competitive group.

The only way to market TF2 to viewers is through the 6v6 structure. Watching Highlander matches is beyond terrible. There is no flow between the teams and always looks like a huge pub. That style will never be attractive to viewers and thus new people will not encouraged to play TF2 competitively.
6v6 matches have a flow and allow viewers to watch the match details in the same way you watch CSGO. This is the market Valve needs to steer TF2 players in order for competitive to really take off.

We have never been able to fold the Highlander community into playing 6’s. Valve had the chance to bridge that competitive divide by going all-in and fully supporting the tried and true 6’s style when they announced MatchMaking. It looked promising when first announced and Valve had all the information it needed to get the best results.

Instead, Valve tried to merge the HL and 6’s styles together for their own purposes and the result is complete failure to see the big picture. The current MatchMaking system does not emulate a true competitive environment in any way shape or form. It is essentially a 6v6 Highlander format with no structure at all.

When a pub player decides to play MatchMaking, and get a feel for 6’s, the current system does not give any new player an incentive to practice and become better at a certain class or role in a competitive setting.
Because there is no structure in the current MatchMaking format, the alternative choice for new players is to just switch classes. They then pick a class they played in pubs that has no real impact on a structured 6’s environment thus defeating the purpose of competitive all together. This is the heart of why Matchmaking is a failed endeavor in its current form and cannot help the competitive community at all.

If Valve truly cares about competitive TF2, it must match the accepted league format for 6’s and adjust the MatchMaking system to attract new players.
Doing that will allow new players to experience the real side of 6’s and will drive some players to sign-up for the leagues and help grow the community.

owlThe reason nobody talks about trumps policies is because he doesn't talk about his own policies and as far as we can tell, he doesn't really have any besides 'build the wall!' and 'get out those damn illegals!" For other candidates you can go online and find their actual, stated stances on almost any issue. You can't do that with Trump so people talk about what they can, which is his frequent bouts of incomprehensible rambling and 'slip-ups'

Yes, he never posted anything online

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies

That was a difficult search. You didn't find them cause you never attempted to even look at them.
