#6 Big announcement from tfcl (Free lan travel) in TF2 General Discussion

Hey. So, just wanted to confirm some things about the travel stuff.

There will be a maximum of 12 teams competing in S Rank, and all of them will be given free travel to the event. However, hotel reservations and other stuff once the players are here will not be covered. This is also restricted to North American teams and players, so if you roster someone from EU, they won't be covered.

A Rank (one below S) will also have discounted travel, though the exact discount hasn't been decided yet.

Here's a basic roadmap for TFCL.
https://tfcleague.com/2017/11/21/future-tfcl-roadmap-2018-beyond/

The goal is to try and entice esport organizations to join into competitive TF2, with the hopes that their power and status in the esport world can help to grow and legitimize TF2's scene.

#11 Malcolm Young Died in Music, Movies, TV

I think 2017 is pretending to be 2016, in that it's trying to kill off as many famous or important people as it can just to outclass 2016. Seriously, stop dying, people!

#6 Windows 10 update messing my aim? in TF2 General Discussion

Yeah, definitely check to see if mouse acceleration is on. Also, make sure you have the fall update, and not the creators update. Some people are receiving the creators update now, and some haven't even received it at all.
If it's the creators update you installed, try to force it to download the fall update. Creators was buggy as absolute fuck for a ton of people, especially in regards to mouse behaviour.

#1 Extreme sports? in Off Topic

Does anyone here do any kind of extreme sports? I'm looking to get into skydiving soon, and might try snowboarding again.

What do / have you done, and how did you get into it?
And for those that have never done an extreme sport before, what are you potentially open to trying?

Also, does anybody have any tips for snowboarding? I sold mine ages ago so if you have equipment recommendations I'm all ears.

#7 I want your opinions on video games. For science! in Off Topic

Definitely an interesting personality quiz. Far better than the last one I took, which ended up telling me that I should seek professional help. Yours didn't do that, so +1 from me.

Oh, and I got Clan Lord and Immersion Engineer.

#234 TFCL - North American League in Projects

End of Reality is now hosting our maps and configs via their control panel. I've also gone ahead and added a Featured Hosts page to TFCL, as i'm going to be bringing in more providers in the future.
https://tfcleague.com/about/featured-hosts/

Also, every provider listed as a Featured Host will receive updated configs and maps, so you can just install them at any time from their control panels.

Edit: forgot to mention, medals should be going out today.

#3 PSA: Windows 10 raw input / mouse delay fix in Hardware
nopePointing out that there were still reports of raw input issues on /r/globaloffensive with this version, just of a different kind. The update has fixed some problems and seems to have introduced or left others.

I'm not seeing anything on there? Everybody on the main thread seems to be saying it fixes raw input?

The update doesn't fix everything, though at least as far as raw input / mouse delays go, it seems to have fixed it for the majority of people that had this issue, myself included.

#1 PSA: Windows 10 raw input / mouse delay fix in Hardware

If you're having issues with raw input on Windows 10 since the creators update, or if you have any kind of severe mouse delay, you need to update to the fall update asap. This fixes the raw input issues entirely.

Version 1709 is the one you need. You can either download this using windows update, or you can download and install it manually from the Windows site.

Good luck guys.

#232 TFCL - North American League in Projects
wolsneSidular, I think your passion for the community is really admirable. You're constantly trying to find new ways to get involved in sub communities, participating on many teams, creating your own league, and now talking about hosting a LAN event. I and many others surely appreciate your interest in these ventures, however I feel like from the inception of TFCL the results have been rather lack-luster due to a loss of focus on specific projects. The branding behind TFCL is great and one that is easily distinguishable, but I feel like the execution of the projects you undertake are poorly planned/organized. I don't think anyone would disagree with wanting another NA based LAN event as long as it falls within a reasonable time-frame and is easily accessible for a decent population of TF2 players, but I definitely share sentiments with what saam said above. My best advice would be to avoid trying to spread yourself too thin and try to see one project through to success rather than starting up another before the previous one has even gotten off the ground.

As a suggestion it might pay off to see about bandwagoning onto another smaller LAN event and get into talks with their planning team about having a TF2 based event under their event title and you could self sign/brand it using TFCL and still raise money via crowd funding.

What other projects am I running, if you don't mind me asking? TFCL is basically the whole thing, as far as TF2 stuff goes.

Medals are out
Medals for Ultiduo Alpha, Ultiduo S2, Sixes Alpha are now out and in the wild. If you didn't get one but think you should have, post to our discord and we'll get it fixed asap.
Ultiduo Season 3 and Sixes Season 2 will go out later in the month, after prizing has been finalized.

LAN Update
I decided to move the lan back to November 2018, thanks to some advice from others on here. Hopefully this doesn't conflict with any other major tournaments.

#2 windows 10 creators update in Q/A Help

I haven't had any issues with raw input, though I did start getting a 300-500 ms delay with mouse movement. Seems to come and go at random, and Microsoft said they'd have it fixed in the new Fall update. But still, it's something to note.

My advice? Don't use Windows 10, though if you absolutely must use it, try to avoid the creators update, at least for now. Also, disable game mode. That thing is a frame killer.

#65 Nominees for Community items in TF2 in TF2 General Discussion
Snack_segfaultWhere's snack????Cheers dude, I appreciate it, but hosting 2 ultiduo tournaments really isn't that big enough a contribution to the community to deserve a community weapon. There are people levels beyond the ones I will probably ever reach with regards to community contributions that deserve it much more than I do.

Don't cut yourself short, snack. You've shown a great deal of commitment to this community, and honestly, you should receive some kind of recognition for what you've done.
