Given the proportion of players that are under 22 in the community it shouldn't be shocking to have low turnout for an event that takes up a good chunk of time during the busiest part of the school year.

I don't know what the rules/requirements for renewals for these cups are, but delaying/canceling until most people are out of classes might be a good option. Personally, I'm looking forwards to playing in the June cup but I can't indulge in TF2 during the school year.

As others have mentioned, the editing feels a bit awkward. I think a lot of it is due to minor things with the velocity/time remap that reece mentioned -- those transitions never quite feel right. Spend more time with the details of your edit and it will come together I think -- you're on the right track.

I also agree with the criticism that many cines do not have the featured player big enough in the frame. You should be aiming for cines that are at least as close as the ones you have in the scout clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1aGC99Acy8 is a great example of smooths with low FOV done well.

Do something with the colors IMO -- default TF2's color palette just doesn't fit with this song and editing style I think.

Overall, TF2PL has been an excellent experience for me so far, but I would like to echo and expand a bit upon the criticisms raised here in this thread.

As Mustard pointed out, the classes people have in their profile pic don't necessarily reflect what people are good at/want to play, and the problems with this are particularly egregious around medic. I've effectively been a med main ever since the Mixchamp days (RIP), but there are definitely times on TF2PL where I want to play a combat class instead, can't be fucked to instantly change my profile pic before the next PUG, and end up being expected to play med again when I really wanted to play scout or demo. Even some sort of way to more quickly and easily change the classes you're interested in playing in the game lobby would be an improvement.

^maybe a solution is to make this visible on the TF2PL page as a "casual" PUG queue? Would address a good number of these complaints IMO

IMO, having a low-stakes tournament once in a while where crossbow was blacklisted would be a great time because of the way it forces a change in playstyle (and also b/c needles are fun as fuck), but I can't see it getting banned for comp play anytime soon.

I enjoyed the video a lot for the most part, but ffs stop fading the music all the way out and in for no reason. If you want an edit to be about the flow of the music, stop taking it away all the time. Love the smooths and quality otherwise, but that really took me out of it.
