#35 Who pioneered 6s in TF2? in TF2 General Discussion

Pheesh unfortunately that hard drive is long gone. All i remember was they ran frod and zet on sniper and they apparently didn't know about spies.

To clarify my first post, i guess i should have said that cevo was the first official league that held 6v6. Correct that animeman was the original person that started the poll. He did go by another alias, but for the life of me i can't remember it...it was same the alias he used in TFC for many years..think he changed it to animeman when he joined ae. Pheesh do you remember?

#3 Who pioneered 6s in TF2? in TF2 General Discussion

6V6 was started with CEVO, which held the first TF2 tournament in NA. They had 2 tourney's back to back, an open $1000 and the Sennheiser open (winning team members all received HD350 headsets).

#32 POLL: how long have you been in comp TF2 in TF2 General Discussion

Very First Cevo Tourney($1000 open). It was either late 2007 or early 2008...something like that. We lost to the doctors in the quarter finals on 2fort wah wah.

i've been on way too many teams

#66 Soap DM vs MGE in TF2 General Discussion
mge-style map would be pretty coo with DM. so it's just like MGE now, except with a DM arena inlucded.

That would be awesome - add an area that can add up multiple people (3v3 or 4vs4 teams). I guess the only issue would be uneven teams at times, but really no different than DM servers on downtime.

As far as the MGE/DM argument - it's really all personal preference. MGE i think caters more towards soldiers and developing aim. DM servers give a more "game like" experience as you have to be ready to face multiple situations at any given time. I think this helps hone game-sense and awareness.

Both are good for practice regardless...but if you really want to develop competitive skill, get into invite pugs. Typically they are run very well and almost everyone gets included in a game as long as you stay in spec. On top of that, you will be playing against top level players who are good at just about any class. Best way to get better is throw yourself to the wolves and get your ass beat...that helps break bad habits more than anything.

#15 Windwaker HD remake for Wii U in TF2 General Discussion

it's totally worth it...it was like playing how it was meant to be played. You need a pretty decent rig to play everything maxed out. I think when i first downloaded it, i had a 295 GTX and was able to get around 30-50fps @1080p with maxed out AA and AF. I upgraded to a 680 GTX last year and now i can play with everything maxed and never drop below 100FPS.

I'd say skyward sword and galaxy are the two games you have to see in HD...they look like entirely brand new games.

#11 Windwaker HD remake for Wii U in TF2 General Discussion

I think i posted this on natf2 forums a long while back...but if you have a decent PC with a good video card (anything above a 460gtx), download the Dolphin emulator (wii/Gamecube). You can already play all the games in 1080p and add AA/AF...games look and play amazing.

#33 Hey ESEA in TF2 General Discussion

It's a long shot, but you could try calling your provider to see if they could move you to a different backbone on their network. I called in a ton of times to Comcast a few years back when my ping went to shit, and they did this for me...with it i noticed i got a new IP address because IRC G-lined me for logging into my account right after i got switched over lol.

#11 when can you push? in TF2 General Discussion
fraacBl4nk is critical of European teams who wait for a pick, he says you can push off damage. This was news to me. Can you push off your roamer distract-bombing like at mids or is that crazy?

That's only one way..and that won't always work if your push is sloppy.

fraacCan you push off your roamer distract-bombing like at mids or is that crazy?

Absolutely - watch just about any match blaze/harb (or any smart roamer). The distraction method is one of the best. Not only does it occupy certain members of the other team, if you can get behind them and piss around, it completely set's the opposite team's goal of now not getting picked, or an early pop. If you can get in the other team's head and mess up the organization of their hold/push, that's just as big if not bigger than a pick.

#13 fps capping? in TF2 General Discussion

I've always capped TF2 and UT3 @ 72fps. For whatever reason, those are the only 2 FPS games that the movement feels weird at super high frame rates....it almost feels like my aim doesn't line up to the movement of my wrist. I still use 120hz on my monitor and i benefit from the added smoothness, but movement to me feels more accurate at that cap.

I play other FPS games however (BF3, QL, Warsow) all uncapped and movement feels fine...so go figure. This is one of those "it's all about personal preferences" deals. Best advice is to mess around with frame rates and see what works for you.

#70 tf2 characters in TF2 General Discussion
rkI feel like you have someone specific in mind that incorporates all of those things, lol...

Actually that's spread across 3 ex-teammates. If that was all 1 person, he would literally incorporate everything that is evil in TF2

#59 tf2 characters in TF2 General Discussion

-the guy who chucks everyone else under the bus after a loss, except himself
-the guy that just can't take losing, and rage quits mumble and possibly the team
-the guy that complains that he can't play TF2 if his ping is higher than 30
-the guy that blames his poor play and or losing on a higher ping server (same guy as above usually)
-the guy that takes video games so serious that he ruins everyone else's fun
-the guy that's ALWAYS the fucking last to join the server after everyone else has been there for 10 mins

yea fuck those guys
