I'm unclear, where are you putting this? Might be the issue
Things to make sure you are doing:
1. Putting this line of text in tf/custom/hud/ui/hudachievementtrackeritem.res
2. Enabling an achievement so that the crosshair shows up
3. Placing hud_achievement_tracker 0 or hud_achievement_tracker 1 in the proper class .cfg files
AyRTry renaming the demo to something without spaces (just call it demo.dem or something) and try again

That's the weird thing is that is how I am opening the demos, although I have also tried through console
When trying to play an old POV demo (date was 8/29/14) the demo instead of playing displays this in console:
playdemo <demoname> : plays a demo file
I have tried mat_queue_mode -1, 0, 1, 2 and none have helped
Any tips?
