tf2 is in this weird spot where there are a lot of modifications that can be made to game files that would just straight up get you autobanned in games that are designed to be competitive focused (vtf crosshairs, modifying game particles, being able to hear spies cross map)
People are used to being given a high amount of freedom when it comes to customizing their game. Being able to see your meds uber percentage exactly from the flank is for sure a grey area where there is precedent that leagues haven't really controlled what you can change in your hud, but I think leaning to the side of caution and banning is a smart choice until you've at least heard back and forth from both sides as to what the ruling should be

but no you type literal brain damage take "ban ctapping" its not even close to the same

just out of curiosity would something like an ability to forfeit if you are down 3-0 or something like that make a significant impact to the med-enjoyers willingness to add to pugs like that? I feel like the worst part of a shit pug is that the team that's winning usually manages to take 30 minutes even if they're rolling

I think the only way you could not know about the mechanic is if you just didn't play when arrow building was really good

Nothing more painful than scrimming the same map for 10 hours a week. Plus I've found teams are infinitely more likely to play 4 scrims if the map changes, if people know that after the 3rd time losing on metalworks they're gonna get to go for yet another round of losing on metalworks they'll just stop scrimming

our team wanted to play badlands this season
only 4 teams haven't banned it against us so far
all 4 teams that didn't ban it were home teams that picked other maps

update: 5 teams in 15 non-bye matches didn't ban badlands, all of them picked other maps rip the badlands dream

interesting to think about the fact that one day valve just won't fix the big trading exploits.
