I feel stating that racism is inherently bad or immoral doesn't actually work towards changing people's views. Moral indignation or shaming from random people on the internet doesn't seem to change people's behavior, and a lot of the time it seems to make them more entrenched in their beliefs. My hope is that if people see not being racist is in there self interest hopefully at some point they will have realize the moral issues with racism, but I can see how purely talking about what is in peoples personal interest may make it seem I've missed these moral issues.

When 20b, mixup, froyo, and ascent(or whatever they went bye) were playing and we still had esea lans tf2 had a high enough viewership to justify sponsorship, I'm necessarily talking salaries of a significant number for players, but at least people would've been able to get travel expenses and eyes on the game could increase. Well people shouted nigger in front of them.
The point is that there are so few people to welcome into the TF2 community and so few people considering sponsoring teams/leagues so it's even more important that you don't turn them away. Also I'm not trying to say TF2 would be a large esport all I'm saying is TF2 should be in a better place than it is, the community has had opportunities from growth and they've largely been squandered.
You also brought up the fact they're a bunch of other options people can choose from if they want to play an esport, all with bigger communities and opportunities to make money. This is exactly my point why would you stay around playing TF2 when the communities toxic and the top players continually engage in behavior that turns sponsors away?
Spadesaierabro do you even begin to understand how many slurs were slung at esea lanstagg- Platinum during ESEA LAN yelling across the room the enemy team niggers while a BENQ sponsor and I were sitting right behind him. This was also minutes after I spoke to him about how great the community was and how I was happy to see a live sponsor watching the event.
- People saying I was forced to wear a white shirt during our ESEA LAN photo while the rest of the team wore black shirts because i'm black
- Remembered the time I was staying in Elevate room during a ESEA LAN, Bdonski sent the team a text calling his cab driver a nigger. Everyone in the room thought it was very funny and also tried to keep the text away from me when I asked what it said.
The reason why there's so few sponsors in tf2 and why the games dying continues to be a mystery...
-protoJaykeOhwinsEasy solution. Understand the social media platform's policy. Saying anything that violates policy will get you banned. It is actually not that hard to understand. You deserve the ban because you violated Twitter policy. Easy.haha fuck off no one reads that shit. one would assume that if they allow mass manipulation on their platform this shit would be fine.
proto have you been going down some conspiracy theory rabbit-holes my man?
comma5Nub_DanishOne of the main reasons I hear from people who've stopped playing a competitive game is because of toxicity and the fact that there is the existence of this community is evidence that the game being shit hasn't turned everyone away.do you think sponsors actually care or do they just want to look good because a very vocal minority (you) gets upset at """toxicitiy""" and still hasnt figured out how the mute function works
It's not about having a safe space it's about the league needing to get sponsors, you can't really let your top players harass people and say racial slurs when you're trying to make money.
Every game would ban a person for what bowl did idk why you're saying it's because of sensitivity.
if you stop playing a game you enjoy because of mean people online then maybe you shouldnt be using the internet to begin with
idk if you've ever gotten payed to do anything in your life before, but I'll let you know from experience that your boss typically doesn't like when you say racial slurs or harassing people. The same is true for sponsors except even more so because a lot of the time what they're paying you for is mainly your brand/image.
comma5Nub_DanishHave you ever stopped to consider that maybe the reason a lot of people are turned away from tf2 is because of how toxic the community is? Do you think people just getting into tf2 see some of the top players abhorrent behavior and don't get turned away?new players dont know what 6v6 is because the game is made to be very casual. the reason people are turned away is because the game is awful and so are the devs
also im not really sure why in a game where you can explode people and light them on fire we need it to be a safe space with no mean words
there are no other games i can think of with people as sensitive as you clowns except maybe overwatch and we all know how great blizzard is
get a grip

comma5NURBEYit would appear you have previously played on a team with bowl, so i think you should be banned for not only being friends with someone who said mean words in a videogame, but also trying to cover up the fact that they were connected and probably responsible.
I don't get this sentiment. Do you think bowl and his friends should get away with being a big nuisance to RGL?
I'm looking at https://i.imgur.com/FiUrqxJ.png and this doesn't like a ban for association, but you can use whatever justification you want to defend a shithead I guess.
And not banning people for bad behavior because the communities too small is really stupid. Have you ever stopped to consider that maybe the reason a lot of people are turned away from tf2 is because of how toxic the community is? Do you think people just getting into tf2 see some of the top players abhorrent behavior and don't get turned away? And the people who don't get turned away are more likely to be toxic, have you heard of the phrase "birds of a feather flock together"? This makes the community even more toxic which drives away sponsors, new players and it probably makes valve less likely to offer developer support (though the chances of getting developer support are so low idk if this is even a factor).
stephSeniorsoda
bowl literally disrupted two different 100+ viewer casts by giving out connect info to his stupid idiot friends and had players with slurs in their name join both times in an effort to get on the logstf page.
he also has been coordinating this with his cjerk of morons, one player of which is a) currently permabanned from rgl for being a racist idiot AND continuously cheating and b) has been sending bots to rgl and other hl discord servers in poor attempts to spam and mass ping people.
absolutely insane that you people can defend this moron or any of his goons
The TF2 community has accepted people who are well known "ex-cheaters" for years now, what did you expect?
MarxistMedic doesn't count as a combatant - because if you're healing a scout who loses a 1v1 the probability that you can then out DM the victorious scout without assistance is 50/50 at the absolute best. It's part of the reason medics typically abandon outnumbered players.
Ya, but saying a 1v1 where you have a medic and they don't is the same as another 1v1 is just stupid, and the hope is that the health advantage should reduce the possibility of your scout losing the fight to a acceptable level.
MarxistSay "don't take 1v1s" and run like a shitlord. It would've taken literally seconds to just back up and wait for the incoming other scout to 2v1 with ease but instead scout A decided to bot. By healing scout A you are robbing them of the chance to receive the negative reinforcement of death, and will then likely see the same 1v1 happen again in the future to the detriment of your whole career and team.
Does the medic not count as a person? When did regenerating health and having a higher health pool stop being enough of an advantage to win a fight?
I'm not going to lan, but I have been considering becoming a jigglo for quite some time HMU fellow albertans
scripted tibby (the scout) clearly looked at the pipe and then proceeded to strafe into it
Air_ALWAYS heal the better scout.
True tbh
but I think it depends on the health of the scout fighting, but if he's hurt I think he should back off and you crit heal the other scout and let him take the front lines
the only reason we think you hate the community is becuase you keep telling us you do
DomoCatFacesandblastruwin back in the day had like 500+ viewers but stopped. i assume that would be enough to live off of.Then he threw it all away with one sentence
I've never understood what was it that ruwin said that ruined everything, I just know he got cut and it all went downhill after that.
