#50 Global Whitelist Meeting #2 in TF2 General Discussion

I don't actually, haha.

Last time we had maybe 15 people in the room? I want to strike a balance between getting enough high-level minds in the room but not having too many cooks in the kitchen. We need to have representation from every region, and finding a time that works for everyone is hard.

Agreed, after the initial meeting we'll have a drafted whitelist that you guys can pick apart.

Antareswould it be possible for the streaming to happen during a time that would suit multiple continents, not just the us

The meeting has people from all continents, so we just do it at a time that works for those involved. We'll make sure the VOD isn't muted so you can watch it back later.

Streaming the discussion seems fine. I want people to be able to understand the justifications for the decisions made. When the first draft of the whitelist is posted the community can pick it apart at that time.

#1 Global Whitelist Meeting #2 in TF2 General Discussion

Hey guys,

Last time we did a global whitelist meeting we did it in secret and some people weren't happy about it. So we're probably going to do another meeting now that the seasons for ETF2L/ESEA/OzF/UGC are ending just to make sure that all of the leagues stay in sync. If we go through specific weapon bans, this thread will turn into a shitshow, so let's instead center the discussion around who can attend and who is allowed to listen.

My gut feeling is, let's hold the meeting in a public mumble server and set it up so that one private channel is allowed to talk and the other public channel is muted but allowed to listen. The channel that is allowed to talk has league admins and top players. We'll then record the discussion for anyone who wasn't able to attend, and then post a public draft of the new whitelist the next day. After some discussion with the community, we'll revise the draft and send out a final draft a few days later. Sound good?

#9 ESEA S23 W8: EVL Gaming vs. -bird noises- in Matches

It was BM but EVL technically played 5cp how you're supposed to play 5cp. It was a well executed game. Was it what the fans wanted? No. But you can't blame EVL for doing whatever it takes to win. 5cp in its current state is flawed and that will hold back the game's future growth.

This isn't the first time that this was done, by the way. Enigma used to run engineer when holding 4th points on maps like Warmfront and Metalworks. He'd build up the teleporter and then they'd just do roamer sacrifice bombs and teleport them back to kill time.

I sent an email to the developers and I'm hoping they read it, and I've also made a similar post on Reddit with a clickbait title here: https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/5b1syg/one_of_the_worst_invite_tf2_stalemates_ever/

I'm sure they're already aware of the problem. The way I see it, you can't blame the developers for exploring timer-based options like payload and attack/defense for competitive play as opposed to trying to fix 5cp given the current problems with the format.

#320 TF2Stadium.com in Projects

Glad you guys are still working on this. I was watching a random youtube video and thought of you, hope you don't take offense.

I think you guys should think big and figure out what would make TF2Stadium way way better than TF2Center as opposed to marginally better.

#30 School & TF2 in TF2 General Discussion

Agreeing with #28/29, this is something everyone has to learn to do. Kids prefer short term gains over long term ones, which is why they eat candy, skip brushing their teeth, and ignore their homework. Adults prefer long term gains over short term ones, which is why they eat right, brush their teeth, and get their work done on time. You're just going through a phase where you're having to make these choices and you'll grow up eventually -- I don't see it as an addiction.

Take a deep breath, take a step back, and ask yourself what really matters to you.

just to be super clear about this, it doesn't cost you anything to donate the $1. just put in the code, everyone can pitch in.

#33 Hiding Non-TF2 Streams in Site Discussion

Oh I see. Yeah the only use case I can think of is if you're doing a private stream and if that's the case just use an alt account I guess. Seems like a rare occurrence.

#31 Hiding Non-TF2 Streams in Site Discussion

Yeah so you'll notice that the sidebar now prioritizes TF2 streams. I think it's a good compromise. If there aren't enough TF2 streams live, you'll see TF2 streamers playing other games.
