Yeah unfortunately two top 10 teams had issues tonight which is why we delayed registration/check in by 20 minutes. dog1 unfortunately couldn't play because we didn't have sub capabilities built in by the time the tournament started, and evil mr didn't check in because their cpt was not online sooo rip. Sorry to any teams who couldn't play because of those kinds of circumstances.

Other than that this thing started and we're good to go! Seeds 1-32 play tomorrow, seeds 33-44 play tonight. Matches tomorrow start at 4pm pacific, and I recommend showing up a bit early just in case. Good luck guys!

One more change, unfortunately. Due to limitations of the FACEIT platform at this time, we cannot have substitutes so the 6 players you have on your roster need to be used for the entire weekend. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Your roster may currently have more than 6 players on it but once tournament check-in starts it will ask you for 6 players and those are the 6 players that will be allowed into the servers for the entire weekend.

In addition, the match cannot start with 11 players in the server. 12 players must be in the server for a match to start.

There also appears to be some confusion around how the pick ban system works. Each round is Bo3 so the pick/bans will look like this: ban ban pick pick ban ban pick. I'm not sure if it happens through the website or once you're in the server, will report back ASAP.

I am actually really, really surprised that 30 teams have registered in about a week. Crazy.

If more than two teams sign up in the next 18 hours, we'll run part of the tournament on Friday. If you're projecting your team to be in the top ~20 teams, don't worry about playing on Friday. If you project yourself to be in the bottom half of the tournament, check back on this thread in 17 hours or so and I'll have more news regarding seedings and such.

Again, here's how it works:
1) Seeding is determined by tournament admins who will look at your roster and determine your placement.
2) If more than 32 teams sign up but less than 64, the 32 teams with the highest seeds will get a by in the first round and will play their first matches on Saturday. The remaining teams will play their first matches on Friday.
3) If 64 or more teams sign up by tomorrow then everyone will be playing matches on Friday night.

Regarding substitutions: I had people asking about how to add subs to their rosters. You should be able to add them directly to your team but doing so may deregister you from the tournament so don't forget to re-register after you've changed your roster.

You make some good points. IMO, if the player base is large enough, those players would get pushed to the bottom of the ladder and the better players would go to the top and not have to encounter that more than once. I think the problem is that the system is so new that you may run into those types of players more than once since skill levels haven't been determined for everyone.

Yep! The other amazing thing is that we'll be implementing a pick/ban phase for each round of this tournament. As of this post, it looks like we won't be able to include koth_product in the rotation due to the extra config and testing required (I know, sorry guys) so the order will look like this: ban, ban, pick, pick, ban, ban, pick.
