Yes, I said this. I was angry about someone mischaracterizing me and said words I should not have said. This is something I have done a lot in my past, but I believe I have recently turned a corner in my life and will no longer engage in that behavior.

Do I believe that any human being is superior to another based on any innate characteristic? No. Do I believe transgender individuals are superior to cisgender individuals? No.

My original—admittedly poorly worded—tweet was referring to the unfortunate reality that the percentage of cisgender people who respect my identity as a transgender woman is significantly lower than the percentage of transgender people who do. This means that, in most contexts of my life, I prefer to be around transgender people to avoid issues surrounding my identity. Unfortunately, cisgender individuals continue to let me down on a relatively regular basis, whereas the transgender community has consistently been one of the most welcoming and respectful groups I have had the pleasure of interacting with.

At the time of writing this tweet, I had just learned that a perceived cisgender friend of mine chose not to respect my identity when I wasn’t around. I wrote the tweet out of disappointment with the situation, knowing that my transgender friends would never treat me like this.

Ideally, we would live in a world where everyone’s identity—mine or anyone else’s—is respected, whether by transgender people, cisgender people, or anyone else.

The cup in question has nothing to do with transgender or cisgender communities, nor with any politics between the two. I simply recognize that the 6s offseason is very long, and some people want an opportunity to play more organized matches. I am fortunate enough to be in a position where I can offer a small prize pool to the community, along with my time and effort in organizing the event. I have no personal agenda or intent to gain from running this.

I hope this helps clarify my position. If you’d like to take part in the event, I look forward to seeing you play.

I have spatted with ZestyJesus on this matter a couple of times in public discords (we both have "creator" roles so i think he gives me a response???). I think its a fruitless discussion.

Last time I tried to interact with him his response was "i watch comp so I'm allowed an opinion more than the people who play it". I think if we where to come together as a community and make anything like that the possibility of someone large interacting with us is low. I've been trying to get into UFR for a while as that seems to be the only active TF2 podcast currently with little to no success. I don't think the casual community wants the competitive communities opinion when its easier to blindly hate on something they don't understand.
