Pro's and Con's for open plugin

I've been using this plugin for about 1 month now and I've encountered a few problems such as I couldn't talk in the game (that got fixed) also my name on steam wasn't the same in my TF2 (I have to manually type my name in the console). However there are pro's to this as well, it allows you to change your five from the capped 90 up to 130. It also allows for me having a transparent viewmodel as well as allowing me to change the mat_picmip. Though I'd like to know if there are any other con's or any other pro's to this plugin. Thanks

Julienmy name on steam wasn't the same in my TF2 (I have to manually type my name in the console)

that's one of the listed features of the plugin, I don't really see it as a con.

Mr_Owlcon: you can get VAC-banned

valve would have to ban half of etf2l, which I somehow don't see happening. the most they would ever do is block the plugin.

I don't want to take the chance of getting banned for just having Open Plugin in my game files. I don't even use the damn thing so might as well be safe then sorry.

Pro: you ever choose to hack blaming the VAC ban on open plugin works pretty well.

I don't think that they will ban the plugin anytime soon without at least a warning. A ton of people in the european scene use the plugin and it would be devastating to etf2l (and cause quite an uproar from the community) if they ban it without notice.

The plugin explicitly bypasses the plugin loading system on the client. I wouldn't risk my account on the basis of "but Valve wouldn't do that!". It's entirely possible that VAC is slowly banning people using it, all the confusion created is intended by the delayed ban system. Now, I hope they would notice a huge increase in bans for that particular plugin and do something more sensible about it, but nothing requires them to go back and unban the "early adopters", so to speak, that are already banned.

Bypassing -insecure is not the point. Linux Clients for example load every Plugin, signed or not. What it is doing is the interesting/bannable part.

#6 has the best pro.

pro: allows you to use something close to whitewalls and a higher fov, gaining advantages over other players in a game with intentionally limited fov

con: you're effectively cheating

ok i think this is the part people are having problems withh

if you use a program that lets you change certain settings you shouldnt, theres really not a limit to which settings you can change or what else you pack into the workaround that may/may not be in good faith

we had a fun little thing in l4d where in about 5 minutes we turned somebody's fov plugin into wallhacks that were undetectable on anything but valve servers (seeing as how all comp games were played on 3rd party servers, this was not a problem)

This account right here got banned because of it. (but not only alone it also got hijacked and used for cheating) so i don't think Open Plugin's gonna get someone banned.

after they stated they were banning anyone you used a plugin that allowed them to join vac protected servers with -insecure in the launch options they started banning people who used the workaround

DrCookieThis account right here got banned because of it. (but not only alone it also got hijacked and used for cheating) so i don't think Open Plugin's gonna get someone banned.

As a matter of fact Valve stated that they would ban all OpenPlugin users and they did. Some people using self-compiled versions might not have been banned but that's about it.

Your post contains of two sentences which contradict each other:
"This account right here got banned because of it."
"(...) so i don't think Open Plugin's gonna get someone banned."
?!

Oh and how did you change your profile description if your account was hijacked?
