If you're trying to budget, some of the 2nd Gen Ryzens are really good in that aspect. Ryzen 5 2600 is like 165$ on Amazon with Prime and comes with a decent air cooler that isn't TOO loud on max speeds and with OC'ing can easily hit 4.0 GHz with not horrid temps (around 60C with like 1.3-1.33V so you still should have head space for voltage as general rule from my research is keeping it below 1.4V)

Its easier to recommend things if you give a budget as well, seeing as if you're going anything recent you'd probably have to upgrade to DDR4 RAM and an updated MOBO chipset/socket

Your advice is bad and you should feel bad.

@OP
Just get yourself a Ryzen 5 2600.

Ryzen is great value at the moment, especially the 2600. Not just the CPU but the motherboards too.

If you're not going to stream you don't need 6 cores. The 1600 has been succeeded by the 2600 already.
Also "an i7" could be many things, the i7-7820X is also "an i7".

The budget is more important because you'll need RAM and a mobo as well. Possibly a cooler.
You also have to decide whether or not you want to overclock (should you be able to afford it).

So it comes down to either this

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/QjRsV6

or this
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/Ff37Cb

???

also i get this with the ryzen
Potential Issues / Incompatibilities
Some AMD B350 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Pinnacle Ridge CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

If I was in your position I would wait a bit longer and save another 50-100$ to get the best I can get. I told myself when upgrading my PC that it's something I'll use at least 3-4 years and that if I'm buying components I might as well take time to buy the best parts I can value / performance wise. Ryzen is a great CPU but don't hesitate to wait and save for a 1700x or something like that. Hyper 212 Evo is a great cooler or even the wraith cooler that comes with the CPU is fine. Good luck!

SetsulThe budget is more important because you'll need RAM and a mobo as well. Possibly a cooler.
You also have to decide whether or not you want to overclock (should you be able to afford it).

Got 12GB RAM already so that shouldnt be a problem i think.
Idk really know how to overclock and if its even worth it

It's probably not DDR4 ram though if it's from your old build. You gonna need DDR4 memory for either one of those cpus, DDR3 isn't compatible!

The cooler on the Intel build isn't that great either if you consider overclocking.
K-Cpu (usually for overclocking) and a mainboard which hasn't overclocking abilities mixed aswell.

Gonna leave the rest for Setsul, to pick apart.

See #15 and #17.
New CPU does not work with old BIOS. Can't update the BIOS without a working CPU.
Solution: https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/2Gen-Ryzen-AM4-System-Bootup.aspx
Or buy a B450 mobo.

Either do some research and figure out whether or not you want to overclock or just don't.

CrimeScenebut don't hesitate to wait and save for a 1700x or something like that.

The 2700X is a thing that exists.

CrimeScene Hyper 212 Evo is a great cooler

Not really.
It's a budget cooler. The only thing it does really well is being on sale for 20-25$. It doesn't do that in europe and is therefore merely above average (because the average is a very low bar).

Intel is not nVidia and does in fact have to compete with AMD.

Nah, that's about it.
