I'm surprised this thread has not been made yet (I don't think it has)
Who do you think will win though?
I really think McGregor is going to pull it off.

mcgregor cant outbox mayweather so his only realistic chance is a powershot getting through mayweathers defense. he knows this so he'll be low risk boxing to avoid that, but i guess its in the realm of possibility.

i expect mcgregor to eat about 300 jabs and lose on points pretty badly.

I think if McGregor is going to win, he is going to win by knocking out Mayweather. Mayweather can obviously out box him and win by points, but I think if McGregor gets in there, he is fast enough and packs a hard punch, Mayweather is done.

Mayweather will win and it won't really be close imo. For those that don't really know mucheck about boxing, McGregor has very little boxing experience and Mayweather is 49-0. It'd be like someone who only plays soldier trying to play demo, ya there are similarities but also drastically different

I have serious doubts about this fight going the distance.

The main reason is because Boxing has pretty soft doctor stoppages from bleeding around the eyes. If McGregor gets eaten up for 6+ rounds with jabs, he is going to be a bloody mess and the doctors will stop the fight. Whereas in MMA, if you can keep going the cuts don't mean shit in like 95% of the cases.

If you expect mcgregor to have a chance against the best defensive boxer in the history of boxing IN A BOXING MATCH you're in for a huge letdown.

That said, I hope connor chooses to say "fook your money" and become a legend instead by KOing floyd with a kick in the first 10 seconds of the match.

Its not about him "having a chance in a boxing match". Nobody would say he has a boxing chance to win. This isn't a boxing matchup, and McGregor isn't going into the ring to out-box Mayweather or win on points.

McGregor's mindset is to get into a street fight and land power shots, not go for points which is all Floyd has ever done. I am more interested to see what happens when they get close. Is Floyd going to try and hug it out for referee separations? Will Conor even let that happen since he wants Floyd close? I can see Conor pushing him away and possibly against the ropes in that situation. Bear in mind, Conor doesn't have to hit Floyd flush to stun him. Blocking those power punches can rattle/stun you just as good as a punch landing on your face.

Anyone knowledgeable will tell you that you can't teach punching power. Some dudes are blessed with hands of steel and can light up anyone if they hit. Connor is such a person and those people always have a punchers chance.

If you don't think Connor has a chance, I believe you need to re-analyze the matchup. Connor is younger and more hungry to prove himself. He is a lot bigger and has more reach. Connor has done most of his best work against opponents moving away from him and his power. Floyds main advantage is boxing strategy and the technique he has mastered over the years. Problem is, he is not facing another boxer in this situation. He is facing a bulldog who is not going to go down and is an extremely unconventional fighter. At 40 years old, can he keep Connor at a distance for 6+ rounds? I guess that is the big question.

Floyd is still an overwhelming favorite but in the first 5 rounds, Connor will have to make his big moves before he gets all cut up. I still think the best bet is a Doctor Stoppage after the 6th round for Floyd because boxing doctors are pussy assholes. I just pray for Connor to catch him just once against the ropes. That will be his best chance to hit that bomb.

All I hope is that the match is somewhat worth watching. Id be pretty disappointed if like for instance the match was shorter than their entrances.
