thoughts on alternative mice to WMO/G400?

since it's hard to get your hands on WMOs or G400's these days (is the g400s any good), what are some popular alternatives for old school players? I've heard kinzu is good as well as the kana?

I'm using the zowie za12 and it's a great mouse but I miss the WMO/g400 feel. The shape just isn't the same. Are there any mice with good sensors that have a similar shape? I might get a g400s if the cord issue is fixed and the sensor is good. Anyone know much about the kinzu and kana in terms of sensor and shape?

I used the MX518 for like 8 years, then the G400 for several more until the cable gave out.

I'm using an Zowie EC2-A now. The shape is similar tho a little less...robust? I love it though. Sensor is great and doesn't spin out at high speeds like the eVo line of Zowie mice, which this one replaces.

wait really how is the g400s already discontinued? what is the alternative to g400 then? why are kinzu and kana crap? @zig I used ec2 evo for a while but I didn't like the shape and I got the white one which would get dirty very quickly. I did like the buttons tho.

I also didn't know it spun out at high speeds. I always stick to around 10 in/360 and I found that the higher sensitivity I use the worse I can control my aim with lighter mice. Maybe russian style would help but I'm not really comfortable with that

Russian style? And if you didn't know that it spun out then it isn't an issue for you

Kinzu and Kana use shit sensors.

For the wmo, you could try those sensei clones like the DM1 pro s or the nixeus revel, but they kind of curve outwards at the front unlike the wmo. The za12 really is as close as it gets right now for something decent. I'm personally waiting for the rumored sensei prism... sensei clones are uncomfortable as fuck with their slight differences imo.

As far as g400 there isn't really anything. Roccat kone EMP?

scroll down a bit and you'll find the specs

it's using a pixart PMW 3310 sensor, but it's a bit heavy for my liking at 120 grams. I really wish they'd make it lighter though. I was never a fan of heavy mice

Can't you just buy a WMO for like $10 from ebay.
I have 3 of them sitting in a box here (2 with custom coating/paint but all 3 originals) and I bought them for dirt cheap.
It's about a year ago I bought the last one but I'm sure they should still be easy enough to find.

as someone who used the g400 for two years, g400s for another two, and am now on the g402 all from using the warranty chain, i haven't had any major problems transitioning, the only thing i've done are unbind the two buttons near m1

dunno man, just get one off ebay. you can still find real wmo's (although lots of fakes too).
g400s has some smoothing that g400 doesn't afaik.
I still use silver ie 3.0

They did make it lighter
http://www.duckychannel.com.tw/page-en/Ducky-Secret-M/
93.5g with only a few mm shaved off the proportions

It doesn't really have a WMO shape though. When I compare it, my Nixeus Revel looks much closer to my WMO than the Ducky Secret does (though I'm going off promo images because I don't have one).

You'd be buying it for the PBT shell mostly, it's nothing special otherwise.
