What is TF2 Competitiveness?

I feel as if TF2 has reached a "Meh" feeling for most "pro" players. I use to really anticipate watching a Grand Final of ESEA and the likes. Now-a-days not so much. Don't get me wrong I am always down to watch some 6v6 (And the occasional 9v9, wink wink) but as someone who started watching/playing ~2 years ago I feel as if the competitiveness has dropped in the last year.

Sure, I can see some people in IM or even Open as "Why even try, we can't win" but shit, why play the damn game then? Go fucking playing LoL or Dota if you want to make money playing games... currently TF2 isn't in their league in regards to prize pool.... so if your looking to play for money, be gone. If your looking to be the best of the best sir (Independence Day Reference #cool) then stick around, play your heart out and win those games...

Sure... Froyo (And EVL (No offense)) have the game sense and skill to probably demolish you, fuck it. Play the game because you enjoy it and want to get better. If that isn't the case, see above.

EVL, no offense you didn't hold up to your old glory against Froyo as the last couple of seasons (And even though the casters 'rode' Yomps dick in a sense) he did out perform most seasoned players. Now, this may be the case that Yomps is just a great player (No doubt) but I still feel as though most of EVL should of out shined Yomps because of their default game sense.

Froyo has relatively new players in the invite levels considering b4nny on their team. So in my eyes, even though I am a huge b4nny and Froyo fan EVL should have taken the Season. I just feel as if their heart isn't in it.

Why is this? I wish I knew. I can't devote the time I wish I could to gaming because of life ect. but if I play a game like TF2 (when I can) I play to when, and I feel like EVL did not do so.

I hope, all in all that they rectify this in the future because with the recent changes to TF2 I feel as if we need this to become a staple. IMO, this is observed through the recent upsurge in Subs via B4nny's channel. Yes, some are do to Amazon Prime but IMO not all. We are growing. Fractionally, but as of now what hasn't been fractionally? So let's get the competitive spirit back into Invite/IM and play the fucking game. Who cares if you won or lose... Capre Diem, Seize The Day.

Enough talking, I'm gonna go play some of the limited time I have to play TF2, and enjoy it. You should try to do the same. #drunk out.

Yes. I mean they won the previous season 5-0 (Wasn't it?) so with that being said it's a statement that they aren't nearly as strong as last season IMO. So what happened to EVL?

I have no idea what your argument here is, EVL has the more experienced players so they should have won? Even if that were the case that's not how the game works. It's also not true, the least experienced player on froyo is habib who has 3 season of invite, 6 seasons of esea and has won IM as well. Beyond that they have freestate who has 5 seasons of invite, paddie who has 8, and then blaze and shade have been around forever.

I'm sorry if my time frame is off.

I guess what I was trying to say is team cohesion. EVL has been together for awhile whereas Froyo has been together a limited time.

EVL merged last season with 3 players each from 2 different teams

which is similar to what froyo did except for blaze (froyo black + froyo)

I should have no included my thoughts/opinions in the current state of Froyo/EVL rosters since I havne't kept up with them in current seasons. I apologize. My initial and real reason for the post was what seemed like the lack of competition that EVL and the general public made in the current season.

I do not consider myself an expert analyst or anything. As I said, drunk AF and just wanted to spew my opinion on people!

Thanks!

lol are you fat and just started working out, eager to make fun of nerds? same goes for the drinking, you still have #drunkaf on your steam profile.

everyone knows as soon as they're good enough to play in esea-im or invite, they could stop trying because that's the peak and the view is nice and not many people will be fighting to be in that position because tf2 isn't as strong as it used to be.
