Iron Bomber vs Stock

Is it just me or are iron bomber pipes just so much more accurate? I thought it was all in my head for a while, but switching between them in MGE there really seems to be a difference. Anyone know why?

Are you hitting more rollers?

Placebo effect is really strong, too.

No, I'm talking about direct pipes here. I don't know if it's just a placebo but switching back to stock I can't hit anything after using the iron bomber for so long.

wasnt there a video about how the different shapes of jarate reskins cause it to have a slightly different projectile arc or something?

maybe something is going on with that because the pipes are shaped different

The iron bomber is slightly more consistent I guess since the game simulates air resistance on moving projectiles, so as stock pipes tumble they vary in speed whereas the iron bomber and loch pipes move constantly.

The iron bombers projectile arc is slightly more consistent but the arcs themselves are slightly different (or feel that way to me) so I can't hit stuff with the iron bomber normally (feels like I have to aim lower than with stock)

I have played with both the grenade launcher and the iron bomber as well. The iron bomber essentially makes pipes easier to hit hence having have the stat of "Grenades have very little bounce and roll".
The tradeoff is that it has a slightly reduced explosion radius. -15% actually. The pipes of the grenade launcher are a bit less controlled in their arc than the iron bomber. Hence more bounce and roll. So yes you could argue that this is what makes the difference in MGE.

We're aware of the stats. We're discussing how objects are calculated changing the arc of the 2 weapons

it doesn't feel more accurate overall, but now rollers are actually useful and can be used strategically, so for demomen who can aim it's a straight upgrade

The pipes move differently because of vphysics. The iron bombers behave more like the lock because they dont spin whereas stock spins which has a ton of virtual drag

Based on the video linked, a "ton" of drag is an overstatement. There was barely any difference in the way that the iron bomber and stock pipes moved, even accounting for random spread, and the differences were hardly noticeable until the pipes were near max range anyway. Maybe the iron bomber is slightly more consistent, but I feel like any obvious difference in practical gameplay should just be attributed to placebo.

According to This video, the Iron bomber and the Stock Grenade launcher use the same Physics model, even tho the client sees different projectile models. Therefore they have the same arc

Same with Stock SL/Quickbomb

However this wasn't done for the Reskins of Milk/Jarate, thats why those go further
