People have been complaining about stalemates for the longest time now, how about we take away some of the most stalematy(?) maps out of the rotation and add some koth maps in instead. A few come in mind:
koth_coalplant
koth_warmfront

Thoughts?

Coalplant isn't the most liked map, hence why it's no longer in rotation. koth_forge is getting some ETF2L play and a koth_bagel is a favorite of mine. I haven't played koth_warmfront, so I wouldn't know how much it's liked.

I never ever want to play coalplant or forge in 6v6 ever again after those preseason cups. They have no potential for 6v6 at all.

the main issue is koth maps generally aren't made for 6s- koth gets a bad rap from 6s players from the mostly hl oriented maps that release. Those maps tend to not be that good on 6s, for example coalplant wasn't very successful in EU 6s but ashville was pretty successful for a long time in HL, afaik

for the most part I don't think it's that outlandish for people to create upcoming koth maps that can succeed- however koth maps are a mixed bag, and you can't learn a lot from them.

What I mean by this is that if you're making a 5cp map, you can look at what process, badlands, snake, etc do well, and you can take a lot of ideas and inspiration from them. When you look at koth, it's much harder, because even viaduct isn't even that well liked in lower divisions. Some teams don't scrim via at all outside of the week, in eu at least. (although seems most prem teams like it)
So IMO at least to create a successful koth map you need to know a lot about 6s, and most mappers don't play 6s.

Played 1 or 2 inhouse pugs on Bagel a while back and it seems really promising, hopefully some more experienced players than me will try it out.

DamnEasyi really liked coalplant

It was ok but there were way too many cheese strats revolving around the stupidly long cap time and the difficulty of shooting enemies while standing on point.

I would honestly like KOTH to be the main gamemode for 6s. High level KOTH matches are incredibly exciting to watch when compared to potentially slow and stalemate-filled 5cp matches.
