I'm pretty this is big part of everybody's game. So I made a thread about it. lol. Post your warm up rituals/tips and how you stay consistent throughout the night, and/or from night to night. Is it just a matter of playing a bunch? Or are there some things you can do either inside or outside the game that help? I know that I myself can sometimes start hitting 2 shots consistently right when I log on. But sometimes I am still shit after 20mins of DM and a few pugs. Or I'll be shit for a week straight, then the next week I am back on my game. :/

on match days, i like to get milk tea on my way home from work.

if you want to be on top of your game, drop the ego and emotions.
be confident and play to win. don't play for bragging rights and don't get cocky or else it will show in your gameplay. don't worry about the guy on the other team who constantly shits on you in mge/dm. he is your rival, not your nemesis. what happens outside of a match stays out. focus. be a stone cold killer.

try your best to never get even a bit upset or frustrated. it makes a huge difference.

being in a good mood and comfortable is the no. 1 thing imo. Just get all comfy in your chair, have some cold water, the works. make sure no one's gonna bother you for a while. After that I just play a round or two of MGE with a friend and I'm about at my "average" skill level.

I play 5-10 minutes of an easy jump map, 5-10 minutes of an aim training map like tr_flinger or tr_rocketshooting, fill up a full glass of water (which I then don't touch until at least halftime), turn off my music, then pregame soapdm until the match starts

I try to make sure my room (and especially my desk) is clean before I start playing. I get a glass of ice water ready and make sure I won't be bothered during the match. We usually scrim till pretty close to match time so I don't worry too much with a mechanical warmup most of the time. Nice calming music during the scrims is nice.

I like to restart my computer before signing onto the ESEA client and booting TF2 but I haven't had time the last couple weeks (thanks team)

Clean desk, fap, drink something, slippers (cold feet suck mid-match), restart my computer and close all un-necesary programs, make sure headset is fully charged. having my headset start beeping for low battery mid match sucks.

I try to surf to relaxing music before matches, but usually we are scrimming and stratting leading up to the game.

To get into the zombified mindset where everything is just instinct and thought process, I usually go onto tr_rocket_shooting2 and shoot bots until I dominate them all, then set up tr_walkway and juggle some bots for a bit. Then from there I like to go into dm and start blasting away. Usually it gets me warm to the point where I can hit those common shots that you always want to hit, instead of flailing around because you're panicking. :]

Before matches or whenever my hands are cold I usually dunk my hands into hot water in the sink for 15 seconds. I also do wrist exercises to keep them stretched throughout my session of TF2.

there is no secret, depends on how you play

I've hopped on competely cold no warmup and tore it up
If anything i wold just do whatever lets u chill out, for some people thats dm/mge

There's a reason that the top nfl players have warmups. The top soccer players have warmups. People who have achieved amazing things. They have warmups. The warmup itself allows you to unlock that consistency and skill.

A lot of my friends have done sports, some have even gotten scholarships at IUN/Purdue etc etc. Most of their warmups were smaller versions of the sport itself, my friend Mitch did pole vaulting, so he'd just jump over a bar without the vault, and then he'd run.

Most of the time, if you go from being this chilled out guy in scrims, and even death match servers, but when you play in an actual game and you want to be Mr. Super Serious, then you're not being yourself. As long as you play like you normally do, then you should be fine.
