warning: 12 pm t i l t

ok i understand that EVERYBODY knows that tf2center sucks major dong, but no one does anything about it. Can we please fill tf2Stadium? We could organize specific times to fill it or something, but something needs to be done. I'm sick of playing toxic centers, never getting picked in pugchamp, and mixchamp always being dead. PLEASE can we do something about filling tf2Standium or if you guys have any other recommendations, I'm all ears.

This thread has been made so many times. The way it will get fixed is simply if people add up to stadium

I know it sounds "simple" but really no one queues up for tf2stadium. They need to do some sort of promo or something of the sort.

Water is wet.

Wanted to switch to TF2Stadium for our region but it requires a specific server plugin. Unfortunate.

We need to stop complaining about the issue, and do something (invite friends, teammates, etc.) ourselves. Just invite people to try out TF2S or MixChamp, and convince people to move away from TF2C.

Basically, people who enjoy lobbies and such should really stop complaining about it and invite people they know. Just spread the word.

I made fun of people who wanted to play TF2C for lobbies and stuff. I told them to go to MixChamp. Now they don't do TF2C as much, if at all. It's not hard people.

ok just nuke the thread, sorry for tilt. I just wanted to get people to actually to do something, all I see is "tf2c is cancer" but no one does anything about it. The creators of Tf2stadium tried, but they don't really have a playerbase.

I know this probably isn't something you're interested in hearing, but if you're unfairly removed from a game via the !rep tool you're more than welcome to bring it to the forum and we can take a look at it.
I took a brief look at your last game and it didnt look like there was any reason you should have been removed. Sorry this happened to you, and I understand if you're not interested in going this path.

Thank you. My last lobby is not the only reason I've made this thread, its been countless lobbies and players affecting my building frustration towards the site.

What's the plugin?
Depending on what it is I can speak to the team and see what we can do

The last lobby I played was at i58, and my flatmate who attended with me tried to join me in the lobby. Turns out he was banned with the reason "Bye Scrambled :)". He asked MasterNoob about it and he just shrugged and ignored him xD

the problem is this community has feared change forever and they won't change from center because of that,
unless people with a lot of sway in the community tells everyone to start using stadium people will keep using center even though its awful, and center will stay awful because they don't have to change to keep people there and to be honest even if they did start losing people i doubt it would change cos the problem with center is masternoob and he won't all of sudden stop being toxic

I doubt most people on this forum ever play lobbies, and if they do, they don't either care enough about the bad leadership of tf2c to change to tf2s.
From what I've understood, most people who play tf2c are fairly new to the game, so they have no real reason to care when their only goal is to get better at the game.

Birdyrocksthe problem is this community has feared change forever and they won't change from center because of that...

The problem is that "not tf2c" isn't enough of a selling point when the site is dead. They don't need anything special, a hardcore of maybe 50 committed players to make sure it's populated and running games as often as possible means that when people drift in now and again they will be able to play and stay, and over time a normal population develops. There's no one dedicated to doing that though.

tbh the only real problem I have is that 80% of lobbies get stacked by the people who play lobbies all the time. If tf2stadium gradually replaced tf2center somehow, why would that be any different? Honestly, mixchamp is not far from being alive almost 24/7 in NA. We just need more medics, and a few more regular midday players

I think tf2stadium just need to market themselves better/more, advertise with youtubers, on the r/tf2 subreddit or whatever.

I'm sure I only found out about tf2center because of r/tf2 back when I was a slug highlander retard, so it'd probably work the same for stadium...maybe. I don't think a large majority of the playerbase even know a better alternative exists.

as much as that would be nice and would help its probably not the place of a charity to help us advertise stadium it would be nice to have their logo on streams and shit though, i've always wondered why we don't advertise sites that are around to help people get into comp on the streams so if someone happens to click on the stream or find an upload on youtube its all right there for them

Geel9What would stadium change if the same players are playing on it?

this is what i always wondered

it's not like different admins can change the quality of games

also mumble required lobbies tend to be way better, so if you want a decent experience just create a mumble required lobby using serverme.tf

Sinetithis is what i always wondered

Presumably the catalog of complaints against tf2c wouldn't happen, not unreasonable seeing as they seem to be primarily about individuals closely associated with it

Well if you look at internet community building at its core, its not unlike a company. When a company is small, things are simple and usually everyone is happy because communication and transparency is easy with its consumers.

However, when a company expands beyond a point of local administration, it becomes difficult to meet the needs of the entire consumer base. Microsoft is a great example of one such company that has this problem. Even in non-profit internet organizations like tf2center or stadium, there comes a time when moderation is an issue.

I like to use the old Latin adage "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" to describe these organizations, witch directly translates to "Who will guard the guards themselves?". If you look at scrap.tf, this is an example of an organization that has remained, for the most part, transparent and straight forward.

In conclusion,

TL;DR Maybe tf2center has become overgrown, and its garden needs weeding out?
