Getting used to viewmodels?

Is it worth getting used to having viewmodels on just for the sake of playing matchmaking?
I don't play matchmaking a huge deal, but I also figured that viewmodels would be fine once you got used to having them on.
Opinions/ideas?

Don't transparent viewmodels still work? If so I'd recommend using that and just keeping your viewmodels how you usually would have them

i personally think viewmodels are very distracting and can even be detrimental, in the sense that if the fov is too low, like it is in match making, enemies can be hidden by the viewmodel. min viewmodels alleviate the issue but not fully. since hopefully most of your competitive experience is not matchmaking, i recommend you use no viewmodels and just deal with them in matchmaking. but at the end of the day, you should do what you feel the most comfortable with.

Valve could very easily add an r_drawviewmodel alpha or transparency value and things would be great then. I'm pretty sure people in CSGO would love something like this as well

Nowhere did I mention anywhere there being an "off" option. Only transparency options.

You can get used to anything with enough practise and mental strength to look past it. For instance I now play on 60hz, taken me a few months to accept certain things will be harder, but I focus on things not affected by this.

Viewmodels on/off makes a tiny difference to your overall performance, you just got to learn to look past it if you really want to use it. Personally I think it's not worth it unless you want to prioritise matchmaking over normal competitive.
