Issues viewing certain twitch streams

For the last few weeks, I've experience extreme stuttering on certain twitch streams that affects the video only - audio is fine, chat is fine, etc. And the video seemingly normalizes after a (long) while.

My web browser is chrome. I've experienced this on both windows 10 and mac 10.10.5.

Of currently active streams/streamers... b4nny's stream does it. raysFire's stream does it. Freestate's does not. Kairu's does not.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Have you tried lowering your stream quality off of Source, usually fixes that issue for me

b4nny's and rays probably use higher bitrates than free & kairu since they're partnered, could be linked. try on other streams with varying bitrates?

you should probably try swapping browsers. if you cant solve it livestreamer is a great option (pipes streams to your desktop media player like VLC or MPC)

Does it happen when you're watching 60fps videos?

Try loading up a 60fps youtube video, see if you get the same problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfwjzNB--5k

I've been dealing this for the last few days - GTX760, 16 gb ram, i7 5930k. It coincided when me purchasing a 144hz monitor and running 120hz with a 60hz monitor, but I think that is coincidence and not actually related. It's extremely annoying because the audio will play as normal, but the video will stutter and then speed up and "catch up" with where the audio is.

Will happen in Firefox/i.e. for me as welll.

I'll try this next time, thanks! Shame, though, as I have pretty damn good internet here.

If viewing streams at a lower quality doesn't fix it, I'll check this out, too. I'm not such an avid twitch viewer that I've even heard of something like this.

That trailer played fine for me.

Try this:

If you're using chrome try going into your advanced settings and try using hardware acceleration. If it's enabled already turn it off. That's what fixed my problems viewing 60fps streams a while ago.
