My username used to be 123jaws cuz of the movie and jaws is always taken. Then I thought I was cool so I called myself BooM LegshoT. I realised it was cringy so I decided to change it.

I wanted a unique name with aide at the end (cuz I thought it sounded and looked cool.)

Ziggy is my real name and some people called me "Zig" or "Zigster" in grade 7 or something. I thought it looked cooler with a Z replacing the S.

Some time after I thought it looked cooler in all-lowercase.

I'm a math major, and when school started to actually get enjoyable for me, it was under the guidance of a wonderful calculus prof who'd become a mentor of mine. When I was in calc 2, I was also in a field research class and realized that a problem we were having with developing an experiment could basically be solved with an optimization problem, only with multiple independent variables. This is a calc 4 concept, but my mentor helped me get started on learning it on my own and showed a lot of faith in my ability. It was really empowering, so the gradient vector and calculus in general hold a really special place in my heart.

Hence, Differ ∇ = Differ-Del = just a vague nod to calculus and particularly, the gradient vector. :)

it started with Toontown Online, i played when i was like 6 or 7 years old. back then they didn't allow you to create a custom alias, but instead they made you choose a name from a word bank of a bunch of adjectives and what not. for the slot where it included actual real names, connor was not an option, but jake was. i included jake in the alias just because it sounded like a cooler name than the rest provided, and my name was created as "Super Jake Whiskerflipper." after i moved on from Toontown i played Runescape, where i tried to make my name the same thing, but the character limit on aliases for Runescape was set to 12, so i shortened it down to "Super Jake69," 69 being the level i was when i quit Toontown. after a while of Runescape, i moved on to Runescape private servers, which basically made the game of Runescape easier in most aspects. these servers were considered a copyright of original Runescape, and thus my 12 year old brain thought that Jagex, the company who created Runescape, would monitor the servers and ban anyone on the original game who played on the private servers. this warranted an alias change, which is where "Blazincookie" formed. after moving away from Runescape as a whole, i moved to League of Legends, where i played with a few friends i met on one of the Runescape private servers. they would always make fun of my alias, because obviously blazincookie sounded pretty retarded. the "Blazin" being the clear part of the alias that created the comical effect, i decided to stick with the "cookie" and i brought back the "jake," because it was essentially in my legacy at that point, since i told everyone that my real name was jake because it was what i was used to being called for so long.

when i was in middle school, i was a fucking nutter on cod: mw3 on the xbox, and my friends were making a clan. they wanted me to be the quick scoping captain, and the clan came to be called FUZION. i was FUZIONxBEAST. eventually, after the clan broke up like a week later, i was too cheap to pay for a name change, so i stayed FUZIONxBEAST for the next couple years. eventually i got clash of clans, and i wanted to name myself something related to FUZIONxBEAST, no matter how retarded it was. i chose FUZION, but i accidently made the f lowercase, so it ended up being fUZION, and i couldnt change it. when i eventually got steam and began playing tf2, i adopted this alias. i used fUZION for a couple thousand hours, and eventually i got so annoyed by people asking "why is only the f lowercase" that i just made the entire name lowercase.

it all started with my dads first username, which was his ebay username. His first ever car he owned was a fiat tipo, and he misspelled it when making his username on ebay and spelled it tipoe. I then thought this was a cool name so I used it as my steam name. Later on I hopped onto a tf2 surf server and some guy saw my name and said "why dont you just change it to tiptoes, and being the young child I was I did what he said. From that point on it stuck with me.

i've never felt like more of an asshole than when i showed up at your dorm room for gxl and said i was there to pick up jake and your roomate was like "no one here is named jake"

When I use to play a lot of Day of Defeat Source back in the day, I'd randomly change my name all the time. Then one time I picked slayer with $ sign for the hell of it because I enjoyed the Halo game mode slayer. Then I left it that way for a few days / a few weeks and people in the community recognized me by it so it stuck.

Then I recently started using dollarlayer 'cause that's how the mumble announcer lady says it, and myself and other tf2 friends thought it was funny and would sometimes call me dollar layer.
