I'm not sure if prec is still being updated but I think it is and I had a few feature ideas, so I thought we could make this thread to give the maker of it some ideas. Post them below :)
(I couldn't find a thread for this so I decided to make one)

My ideas:
- A way you can add a small description behind you last bookmark, like this:
I bookmark something which does this:
[2016/02/14/ 20:01] Player bookmark ("20160214_1951_cp_gullywash_final1_RED_tots" at 38428)
and then I type "prec_explain med surf" and then it does this:
[2016/02/14/ 20:01] Player bookmark ("20160214_1951_cp_gullywash_final1_RED_tots" at 38428) med surf

A 2nd one is to have an option so prec deletes all useless demos that aren't from tournament servers, but keeps the ones from tournament 1 servers. So I can record every pub or whatever and bookmark it when something happens, and when I don't bookmark anything, it deletes that demo. But it always saves mp_tournament 1 demos.

I've spoken to Orange a handful of times in the past couple of months and he has shown 0 interest in updating it.

Was there ever valve saying they're not signing anything anymore, or just we haven't gotten anything in a while?

I always thought that orange had to send in p-rec every time it was updated to get signed again but idk

You can have custom bookmark messages already, I've done it for ages. I, no joke, have

alias precmark "prec_mark Soldier_Bookmark_AIRSHOT_CITY" 

so that when I bookmark it says that, so I know it's a solly bookmark, same for scout and demo.

Only client plugins signed by valve can be loaded without -insecure. If they aren't being signed anymore like someone said above then there aren't really any options for replacing the plugin. I would like to imagine that now that valve is doing stuff with mm that they would be more open to it now though.

is there anything to manually record prec demos in their format rather than just typing "record" in console? i still want the demo to be in prec format but playing pugchamps and shit with the player F4 ready system fucks it since its not technically mp_tournament 1 i guess???

Valve adds a special signature to the file when it's compiled. I've emailed them a few times asking about making a new version, but have never received a response.

you can do that, go to your class config and make a few bookmark binds, for each one write after it the description of the bookmark.
example: bind x "prec_mark medic surf"
and it will put the medic surf after the bookmark in killstreak.txt
